Cooker vs. Baker

i would love to do both.. part of the reason i think why people hesitate to bake is because everything has to be exact.. once you put that puppy in the oven, there's nothing much you can do other than making it a la mode or dousing some chocolate syrup (speak from experience ) but with cooking, you can always add more salt or spices or liquid..

I am good with both, thankfully my DH is not demanding and doesnt expect dinner on the table every night.
I cook about 1 or 2 times a week, and we eat out the rest

well its funny bc if you watch shows like top chef for example, so many of them are not good at baking so its common to just be good at one. And these are specially trained chefs who do this for a living but when it comes to dessert most of them cringe and dont know how to that well.

Or i was watching this other show called chopped on the food network and a girl on there was a pastry chef but the challenges were all regular cooking challenges. She was given octopus and said she had no idea how to cook it at first.

Im a good cook, and when i have baked it came out ok but just dont really bake often. Well i bake chicken and that sort of stuff so that i can do but as far as dessert i dont bake that often. I do want to bake more though to get more used to it. Whenever i have baked desserts it was good but its been years lol

I was having fun on the drama thread,, and had a second window open!

I am a baker. I lovvvvvvve to bake, and I am pretty good at it.

I have been cooking more lately - Most things I cook look bad but still taste good

I love both but prefer baking. I love desserts and I love to try different dessert recipes. Haven't baked in a while though...no time

I do both. I started cooking when I was 7. As a teenager I got into baking and pastry arts.

My sister is a baker....can't cook if her life depended on it.

My other sister is a cook(but only in mass quantities--she works in a restaurant =)).....can't bake to save her life!
