cooks: do you use your food proccessor?

Original post by Bunnymonkey

hi ladies,

never got my food processor and i am convinced i NEED it i order to take my cooking to the next level. However, i know many great cooks who never use it and say it is a waste. i know it depends on personal preference...

i'm thinking of just getting a 3 cup mini food processor to do hummus and marinades and stuff in... $30 as opposed to $100-ish for the 7 cup processor!

Just looking for input.

thanks!!

I registered for one, got it as a wedding gift in November of 2004 and have yet to take it out of the box. I do cook, but we are in an apt. without much counter space and it seems like too much of a hassle to use it. Maybe I will use it more when we have a house and better storage space.

I do use my Kitchen Aid mixer a lot, though

I have a combo blender/food processor and I love it. I use it for everything.

i would think the 3 cup would be good... its not something i use in my day to day stuff - we got a blender/ food processer combo- its by cusinart- it has a food processer attachment that goes on the blender base, so at least i don't feel guilty if i don't use it everyday, because it was part of a combo thing...

I got the same one, I make hummus in it and dressings ans stuff. DH makes his 'malts' in it too (the blender). It is VERY loud though....
