Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

I know some of you are pet lovers and I thought it would be cute if we share some of the crazy things our pets do.

My Shih-Tzu LOVES to take baths. He is constantly trying to jump into the tub and if he sees me going in the shower he barks like crazy and tries to get in. I have never seen a dog get so excited over bath time. I give him a bath once a week and I would do it more often if it didn't take so long to dry him b/c he is so hairy!

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

our dog gets a glazed look in his eye and then sprints around the house like he is possessed...if I could get it on video...I'm sure we would win $100K from American's Funniest Home Video...but it comes out of no where...we never know when he is going to do it...all we can do is take cover, b/c he will run across you if you get in the way (DH goes straight to cover his groin )

our cat has a huge mouth...shes siamese and they have unusual meows...I have been told by many people on the phone that it sounds like a baby crying (even the pizza guy thought so)

she also likes to jump in bathtubs (dry though) and then scream in the echo (although she is deaf and cannot hear herself!)

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

my cat strolls up and down the piano key when she wants attention.

my puppy has taken to baths in the shower and this frantic sprinting in circles - kind of like yours Erica - just out of NOWHERE!

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

Very funny about the sprinting! Our dog does it too but only when he gets out of a bath...he does these crazy laps around the house where he could take out a grown man!

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

My dog does the sprinting too but it's usually at night when he hasn't had enough exercise and has too much energy.

My dog also loves children and babies. He could be playing and if he hears a child or baby on the TV he comes running in and watches the TV!

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

Well, Arnold's most notorious for his disgusting habit of eating holes in my underwear. Luckily this has tapered off somewhat because I put the laundry basket where he can't reach it.

Another funny thing he does is waking Patrick up by gently biting his ears.

He also sprints around the house for no reason, usually with a squeaky toy in his mouth, squeaking it frantically.

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

Blackie is a wacky cat, and that is why I love him so much. My favorite thing that he does when he wants attention, is he will put his paws on my chest and want me to pick him up and hold him over my shoulders like a baby He LOVES it

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

My cat has a small stuffed toy dog that he picks up in his mouth .. like a mama cat would do .. and he will carry it around the house. These days, it tends to go from the TV room to the kitchen and back to the TV room .. but it also gets carried up the stairs into the bedroom. We'll sometimes see him transporting his little buddy (like when we're watching TV) .. but most of the time, the dog just appears in a room where he hadn't been previously.

Diane -- my cat does something very similar .. he'll sometimes stretch from the floor up my leg for me to pick him up and hug him!! (Or carry him like a baby).

Oh, and my kitty has also been trained to sit on command!

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

My little guy only comes sometimes when he's called .. guess it depends on if he's sleeping or simply doing something better than what I might need him for!

I have noticed lately, that he's been following me around the house a lot more .. and he's curling up in my arms with me if I lay on the couch .. where in the past he would go to the other end of the couch for his own free space.

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

Our cat is really strange but a lot of fun. She sleeps in the bathroom sink- and gets upset if anyone is in there without her. I usually have an escort for anytime I spend in the bathroom.
She also has a toy basket that we keep on the floor where we throw all her toys. Well, each day she starts with picking one out and walks around the apartment showing the toy where the litterbox and her food bowls are, then she dumps it somehwere when she gets tired of it. Then, she proceeds to go get another toy. Every night I'm picking up at least 7-8 toys around the apartment.
If only she could learn to put them away.......

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

Our cat Bob will come running to the bed and stand next to me when the alarm clock rings and will stand there quiety until I look at her, then she'll meow.

Re: Crazy 'Pets-peeves'

It was on purpose. It's short for Bobcat Con..... my maiden name - it flows really well:D

A co-worker of mine got a kitten they named Victoria and then the pee peee thing happened but by then they were used to the name
