Cruise Question

I've never been on a cruise but we are thinking of doing a family one next year. How much extra $$ do you ladies usually spend (either per couple or person) with excersion and things?

TIA I'm really clueless about this

Re: Cruise Question

DH and I spent almost $1000 extra on our 10-day cruise...but we did things like a couples massage ($300ish right there). If you aren't big drinkers you can definitely keep it under $500.

Re: Cruise Question

I agree with Ilana- If you arent big drinkers or gamblers you can easily keep it under 500. Jerry and I ended up spending 1700 but this included all the excusions, we drank, gambled (alot), and went for massages.

Re: Cruise Question

There is about $10 per person, per day in 'gratuities' (these are added to your bill automatically) so that's about $140 for a week-long cruise per couple.

Then it really depends on how many excursions you book. The ones you book trhoguh the cruise directly are more expensive than if you book them yourself (or just take a cab). Most excursions that you purchase on-board are between $40 - 100 per person (some are more, some are less).

And drinks are about $6-10 per drink. Soda is also not free and costs about $4-5 per soda, if i remember correctly. You can also buy a soda-card which gives you unlimited free soda ... i never bought it so i have no idea how much it costs. (note that lemonade, coffee, hot chocolate, and water are free ... and some juices are free in the morning too)
