My best friend is getting married on July 18 out in Greenport. Last week, she received a package with a small gift from her registry. It was from a couple in Pennsylvania who she does not know.
In the card that was enclosed, they explain that they were married on the same day one year ago. Now, as they approach their 1 year anniversary, they decided to send a gift to another couple that was getting married on the same day that they did, but one year later. It wishes them much love and happiness and asks them to pay it forward!
Is that something or what? Has this happened to anyone else?
that's very sweet and I might bite off of them and do the same...
I love the feeling I get when I receive something out of kindness, that also reminds me that there are good people in this world.

if they have a registry on BBB, you can buy something off the registry and it would automatically be sent to the couple without you ever seeing their address...
you can search registries by state and date.

I think they must have searched the BB&B website and found them. I was a little concerned too but as my friend pointed out - the information is on the BB&B website so its not like it wasn't out there in the first place.
Also, my friend told me that she now has their information because it was on the packing slip - so it seems like it was just a heartfelt gesture!
But you're right, at first it's a little disconcerting!

Good point- I forgot that the registered couple's address is not online for the public to see but that BB&B just forwards the gift to the address that is on file!

ETA~ I think I may look into that! It would really make me smile if someone had done that for us- and I had never thought about that idea- but it is a great one!!

this is such a cute story.. and something that i would love to do... so i went to BBB to see if anyone was register for 6-13-09... well you cant search by date.. only by name and you must have first and last.. hmmm

I think on the Target registry website you can enter a date to search. Im not sure though so Im going to go check it out right now.....
ETA: Nevermind you cant on there either. So I wonder how they found it?
