Davids Bridal

What were your experiences there? I'm going dress shopping tomorrow with a friend and she doesnt want to be pushed and doesnt want to go anywhere where they'll 'expect' a sale right off the bat. (Its her first time trying on dresses)... I thought david's would be low key.

thoughts?

Re: Davids Bridal

Honestly, any place is going to pressure her a little bit- especially since who knows who she'll be working with. But DB is a good place to start. I also have to say Village Bridal and Paradise Bridal did not pressure me at ALL. Good luck and have fun!

Re: Davids Bridal

I didn't feel too pressured at DB. WHen I went I flat out told them I was not buying that day...just looking. Of course, I ended up buying...but whatever.

Re: Davids Bridal

what DB is she going to? ive never had a bad experience at the Westbury store.... like Jill said... shes going to get pressure no matter where she goes....

but Saturday will probably be busy... and if she doesnt make an appointment she has a better chance of being able to browse without pressure... BUT she might have a hard time finding dresses without a rep from the store there to help her

Re: Davids Bridal

my BMs got their dresses there, I did try on a few dresses...
I never felt 'pushed' but I have good experiences with them either.
the last one I went to the girl started crying when I tried on one dress saying 'omg, you look amazing, like a princess'.... i was like 'um, no'

Re: Davids Bridal

It was the first place I went too. I wanted to try some styles and get a feel for what looks good on me. I felt very little pressure and even put down a fake phone number so they wouldn't call me

Re: Davids Bridal

I think it may depend on the sales rep you end up with at DB. I was a walk in at the one in westbury when I began looking and it had to have been the worst dress shopping experience I dealt with. The rep I had barely paid attention to me, and after I pulled all the dresses I wanted to try on, somewhere in the midst of things another rep put half of them back on the rack before I can try them on!!! I was so pissed! So a shopping trip that shoulda taken an hour tops turned into a loooooong drawn out project. Personally from that I wouldnt recommend that store to anyone ever again.

Re: Davids Bridal

I had the best experience w/ Davids Bridal. I wasn't pushed into buying anything at all, and I got a sample dress that they don't make anymore. They were wonderful!
