I'm curious if any of you guys did this - did it go over well? Were people too tired and didn't attend?? Our wedding is from 6-11pm and afterwards the hotel bar where the guests are staying is open until 2-3am (where I suspect FI's family will all be). Do you think people will want to get up for breakfast/brunch the next day??
Thanks!!!!!

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
I wasn't there, because we stayed in the city...
But my parents had all of my cousins for Brunch at 11:30 the next day (at the Maine Maid Inn....it was awesome), and they really looked forward to it and had a great time.

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
We did this. And just about everyone came! Even the couples who DH said would definitely NOT be there were there (b/c they were out till all hours the night before)! It was so nice b/c we got a chance to spend a few more hours with everyone before we set off. Mostly it was our close friends & fam .. who you really don't get to spend time with during the reception.
Our hotel gave out 'coupons' when they checked in, so they knew they were invited & we of course paid the bill. We liked it this way, b/c we only had to pay for those who came & not set up a separate catered menu ... minimum head count, etc.
It was a great way to end the festivities & say goodbye to everyone before we left. I highly recommend doing it!

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
We planned on having a brunch, but my wedding ended at 1 am and we didn't get to bed till around 4!! We decided to have everyone at the hotel we stayed in come for dinner. We had 18 people...mostly immediate family and it was great!! I know that most of our families would not have been up to getting up early and we weren't either...so the dinner was better for us. But try do some kind of gathering...you will enjoy it.

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
We did this for those that stayed in the hotel. We included a letter in the gift bags. We had it at 11am in a private room and had a buffet brunch. It was a little pricey but it was so worth it (for the most part) for me. Most everyone who stayed in the hotel went. I would say we had about 30/35 people or so. It was good because I got to talk to a lot of people I didn't talk much to the night before, recapture some of the nights moments and get everyone's feedback. I am so gald we did it.
Edited to stay: We did it at 11am for the similar reason as you said (the hotel only did it earlier in the restaurant so we had to pay more money for the private room and later time) - we stayed out and partied 'til way after 3am.
We did it...but I had an afternoon wedding...so people weren't as tired...
but at a friends wedding...we didn't get to our room until 1:15...and being that the wedding was in the hotel...most people stayed and everyone was at the brunch the next day...I would say close to 100...but that was b/c there so many at the hotel...and I think 200+ at the wedding

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
We this too. We stayed at the same hotel that our guests stayed in, so we had brunch in the hotel's restuarant at 11:00 the next morning. It was really just with the guests that stayed in the hotel, and my parents who had gone home but came back for the brunch. It was very nice and a great way to start off our lives together. Everyone was talking about the wedding, and someone even brought their digital camera and showed us all the pictures they took.
My husband and I were the last to arrive at the brunch, and when we walked over to the table, everyone applauded! It was so sweet!

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
We had mega out-of-town guests. My mom had a brunch catered back at our house.. we had about 20-30 people. It was a buffet and we started at 11 and people came and went until about 3! It was fun :)

We did this as well. My MIL hosted it for whoever wanted to come. We probably had about 30 people the next day. They weren't tired, but DH and I were! We had a great time and hung out until about 2pm and then I went to my parents house to pack for the HM.

Thanks for the advice ladies. I was 90% sure I wanted to do one, but I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be a waste if people slept in. You guys have convinced me to do one!!
Thanks again!!!

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
We had a small group at the hotel - it was most of BP, our immediate families. It was nice to get everyone together one last time. It wasn't a huge spread - just enough to chat for a little while before everyone went home!

Re: Day After Breakfast/Brunch
ours was great. Very casual - at my parent's house. It was a great opportunity to spend more time with our guests and unwind from the wedding.
We invited close family/friends and out of town guests.
I think we had it from 11-1, and people just came and went whenever during that time.
