Defrosting Wedding Cake

Well, next week is our 1 year anniversary. I still can't believe it. How long did you defrost the wedding cake for? We are actually planning on eating it on Saturday night since we leave Sunday morning for our trip to Key West.

I put it in the fridge to defrost two days. Hopefully you will have a better experience than we did. It didn't taste too good but it was really cool the way WBM set it up for us and wrote Happy Anniversary on the box. Seeing all the roses on top was so neat too. The novelty of it was nice but have a back up plan for dessert. :)

We took it out the day before & left it in the fridge & then left it out of the fridge for a few hours the morning of then put it back in the fridge before we went to dinner. We also ordered an anniversary cake made exactly how our wedding cake was supposed to be (it wasn't right the day of). After dinner we went back to where we were staying, took one taste of our wedding cake, threw it out & ate the good one!

I'm doing the same thing for my anniversary the following week! We are leaving for our cruise the day before, so the night before that we are going to have the cake with my Mom who missed it at the wedding. I plan on putting in the fridge the 2 nights before.
