DH scared the life out of me Saturday night

He went to play poker with some friends and they started at 6pm. I never asked him what time he'd be home or where he was going, but I knew he wasn't going far because he left at 5:45. He usually is home no later than 1am when he plays poker.

So anyway, I wake up at 3am and he's not in bed. I look downstairs and he's not there. He's not in his office either and his car isn't outside.
I call his cell phone and it goes right to voice mail. He's not on IM either.
Now I don't know what to do. He NEVER stays out this late. By 3:30 he still wasn't home yet so now I'm freaking out. I called the house of a friend of his - I assumed he was there since DH always plays poker with this guy and he lives close by. Well, DH wasn't there - that's not where the poker match was (oh yeah, and I felt like a total idiot calling someone's house at 3:30 am!!!!)

Now I had no idea what to do. 4am and still no DH. I'm frantic. Crying my eyes out. I leave a message on his cell to call me IMMEDIATELY.
In another 15 minutes I'm ready to call around to the hospitals, thinking that he was in an accident (he has a fast car and loves to drag race ).

Finally at 4:30 am he comes home. I'm like WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME??? And he says, 'oh, I didn't want to wake you up. And I just got your message just now'.

Men have no concept of just how much women worry.....

OMG!!!! The newlywed board is describing my weekend right now!!! We didn't see much of each other for the past few days. On Friday night I had a work dinner thing. He texted me around 10pm asking if I was home yet. I didn't get the text until after 11 when I was on my way home, so I call to let him know I'll be about another half hour but his cell goes right to voice mail. I call home, no answer. When I get home he's sitting there playing Play Station of course...he had been out with work friends for a drink. When I tell him it would've been nice if he had told me he was going out he got annoyed with me and said it didnt' affect me because ultimately, he was home before I was. Yeesh! Men are so annoying. He didnt' understand that had I gotten home before he did I would've been worried - he said it didn't matter because it didn't happen.

I feel your pain Ann!!!!

EXACTLY!!! It's gotten to the point where I know he'll be later than he says he will (that is IF I know he's going out ) so I just go to bed and make myself fall asleep and not worry. Not easy to do but I'd drive myself crazy if I didn't. I'm a worrier!!!!

Sorry to be on here but when i saw you post. My fh plays poker to and stay out till 1. I can feel you pain. My fh did the to me the other night . I woke up in a sweat and i was crying like were is he. Of coruse to he has nextel and it ***** so something his phone is in and out of service. He came home at 3. They think nothing of it at all. I say to Brian please call me if you are going to be late and he does not do it he says that he does not want to wake me. Oh and By the way he has a mustang g-t 5.0 and older on that he did up and he likes to race to with it on the streets and that get me even more scared.
So i feel your pain

Oh my Lord!! I would have been fuming (once he was home safe and sound) I would have beat the cr*p out of him!!!
Sometimes men just have no sense, it sounds like something my DH would do.

He said he was at this other guy's house (from his softball team) and he turned his phone off because it was dying. He said that the match just ran late and he was the ultimate winner, so that's why he was there for so long. He won close to $500.

But still, he should've at least called and left a message to tell me he was going to be late and not to worry!!!!!

AND why didn't he answer his cell when you called?

I think I got the message across that he needs to call if he's going to stay out late!
