DH's Boat in Cake - Update, Process Pics now on FB

So my friend and I put in ridiculous hours this week but we made our first sculpted cake. It was mostly her, I don't know how to use fondant. But the carving was a joint effort and I created a lot of the little details.

The party was great. We had a small turnout but it was a lot of fun. Only two of our college friends came, my best friends Courtney and our friend Mike and his wife. Its time to realize that our college years are over and give up on our group and find new friends (like my LIW girls). But we had a great time and he was very happy with the party.

HE LOVED THE CAKE!!!

Thanks Gina. This was a pain. I give a lot of credit to Mandy and Jenny because I have no interest in doing this for a living, to much pressure. But I do want to be able to make beautiful cakes for my family and friends and I think I am getting there.

This one however was mostly my friend Deirdre. Though I did do a lot of the carving and deciding where to cut and I did all the little design details.

Great Job! I made a 'wet t-shirt' cake for a friend's birthday once...took an entire day!
