The guy who did my hair saw mine and got kind of peeved I didn't give him a more OUTSTANDING review. Someone had googled him and my LIW's review came up. This other person went to him and brought up my name and mentioned some of the 'not so great' comments that I had made in my review. He than called a co-worker (the person who recommended him to me) and complained to her about it. I was really ticked that he did that. But, in the end, I felt bad and went back and took his name out of my review. I figured if people wanted to know more info., they would just fm me.
As a result, I am too to go to him now for my regular haircuts..oh well!!!!
ETA: I don't even think the review I gave him was that bad.

Im not sure if anyone saw my Review Im sure they did. BUT I think you are a better person then I. I would have left the review there and then added what you just said. I think that is so RUDE and not a great way to do business.

No one has said anything but I do worry that one of them might (even though I didn't really say anything that bad).
I think your hair looked great BTW! I love that style and wish I had thought of doing something like that....

My photographer obviously didn't see my review or he would have called by now trying to make some kind of ammends.
That said, my DJ saw his review and was pretty upset...so I toned it down a bit, since everyone ELSE liked the music.

I actually sent my review along to my vendors...I thought they should see my feedback. I was happy with most of them, so it was good feedback for the most part.

I do believe most vendors saw my review and only a couple may not have been as happy with their review as they could have. My feeling is, I shared my experience, good - bad or indifferent. If they don't agree with what I said then they should make it their responsiblity to make me happy, the paying customer. I actually wish the reviews were a bit more honest in the experiences. I kind of feel like bride's tone down the bad stuff. I do know that a vendor I used was very unhappy because I was making referrals for my other vendors but not them.

In the end, not only did it sever their relationship with LIW, but they actually filed a complaint with the BBB against LIW for keeping my review up!

Actually, I kept trying to give LA Blossom an 'official' LIW review with a 10, but everytime I wrote it, it never got put up. It was a stellar review, so I guess someone at LIW fumbled it.
On the brides' review thread, I did write a seethingly negative review about the hotel that I used. I doubt they saw it.

I do know that despite what we might think, the MAJORITY of vendor read the boards and especially The Bride's Review to see how we 'rated' them.. I know this becaues I've been told firsthand by a few of my vendors
And lest you think they don't know about the day-to-day drama that goes on here.. well rude awakening, but they DO know and plenty of them read ALL the forums
That said, I do think its incredibly rude that a vendor went out of his/her way to 'scold you' for getting a less than stellar review. If the servies weren't up to par, then to me there are no holds barred - and perhaps if they were good businessmen/women they would try to RECFITY the situatation rather than get annoyed that you gave them a negative rating
I hate that based on these sorts of behaviour by some vendors, the brides on these boards have to feel as if they need to EDIT themselves.. to me , that is not a help to anyone in the end!
Edited to add: Luckily I didn't have this happen to me firsthand, because all of my vendors were outstanding and did a great job.

If you click the 'Vendors' tab up top (next to the chat tab), you'll come to a new screen.
Right under 'Vendors', there is a smaller tab that says 'review'. From there, you can select a vendor and see the review written about them.

So true, and it happens WAY more than you think. Patken contacted me after he was 'made aware' of something negative I had written regarding their customer service
The worst part is, if the vendor themselves don't see it, other brides/NWs on the boards point it out to 'their' vendors. Thats what happened to me.

YUP and he called my mother at 8am and then called my SIL at 8:30am on a Sat.(Knowing that we didn't have the greatest relationship) he started MAJOR family drama but did he care NO! Would I have prior to this recommend his service yes just not the drive that rudely knocked on my parents door and told them that the $50 tip wasn't enough and the driver that knocked the headpiece out of my hair by pushing my head into the side of the limo. But because he chose to be so slimy as to contact my family I will NEVER EVER recommend him to anyone! Getting family involved is lower than lower.

the vendors look at everything here...
their was 1 thread in the 05 board that listed prices from a ton of vendors that all the brides gathered up and wanted to share with everybody. quite a few of them called up and told Ron...soon thier after, it was pulled. The person who started that thread also made a new post saying what i just said.

yep. some of mine did, and some of my reviews were not....sparkling. But I did not say anything in my reviews that I was not said directly to them first, so there should have been no surprises.
