Did anyone go to your ceremony who was NOT invited to your wedding?

Did anyone go to your ceremony who was NOT invited to your wedding?

My parents are going to a wedding near me & asked if I want to go to the ceremony with them.

I know people do that sometimes, but no one did that at mine. Did anyone do that at yours? Or have you done that?

A couple people did that for ours. One even gave a generous check (when some of the invited guests didn't give gifts!).

Yes, some neighborhood people who knew me growing up, a few parents of people who were invited and one co-worker. I got a card from one of my friend's moms with a check in it after the mass, which was really nice.

I have also attended the church for weddings I was not invited to - for neighbors and distant family who didn't invite us, and took photos for my landlords at their son's wedding. I just wanted to see the bride and groom on their day. I would feel OK doing it if it were at a church or somewhere other than the reception hall. However, I would feel a bit awkward showing up at a reception hall for a ceremony if the wedding was immediately following. I would sort of feel like a party crasher in that case.

wc0143 hahhahha that is sooo funny!!!

We had a lot of people do this @ our ceremony--but you have to understand that we belong to a big church and I have grown up there since I was 2 and DH has been there with me for 5 years so we couldn't invite all 600 people haha so a lot of my friend's parents who we didn't invte came, my parent's co-workers--it was nice! I do the same thing sometimes depending on who it is!

We did - mostly neighbors and or my friends parents that weren't invited to the reception

Yes, a few of my DHs clients came to the church...since my DH's practice is in the same community, I expected it and it was wonderful.

Yes, two women I use to work with, we still exchange emails and try to get together a couple of times a year.

Also a few other people, I think parents of DH's cousins husband, and other people 'related' like that.

We had a few of my mom's friends that only came to church but were not invited to the wedding

Yes, many of our co workers came to the church. A lot of people from Florida that DH use to work with flew up to surprise DH, they were at the church. It was about 15 of them, my mom invited them to the reception, but they declined. Neighborhood people came as well.

We did. My best friend's husbands parents showed up I thought it was so sweet that they did A few other people too - my friend's mother, a co-worker who I invited but she couldn't attend the reception, so she and her friend drove all the way to Suffolk from Queens to see the ceremony. I've been to church with my mom a few times - co-workers' children's weddings and stuff. I think it's nice.

Yes, a couple of my friends parents came to our ceremony. I was surprised since it was at the hall I didn't think people would just come. It was really nice, I was very happy to see them!

Well, our ceremony was in the middle of a public park and the village neglected to tell us there was also a CRAFT FAIR being held that day!!

We didn't even notice him and I assume the photographer may have thought he & his pup were guests of maybe one of our dogs?

But I guess initially I was a bit ticked that some guy decided to sit in the chairs we set up in the park ...

Honestly though, I don't think it's bad to attend the church.

YES!!! And we got married at our catering hall!

But I was so happy they did. It was someone who I used to work with and they were visiting from Florida. I thought that was so sweet.

We invited the WHOLE WORLD to the church because we knew we couldn't have them at the reception. I'm one of those people that 'church-hop' for weddings. I love going to the church and watching a wedding, it wouldn't bother me to just go to the church at all.

We had a few people - one of my sister's friends from childhood has a daughter who was obsessed with being a bride at the time (so cute) so she brought her daughter to the ceremony.

I've gone to ceremonies for people when I wasn't invited to the reception.....just to congratulate them...and because I love weddings

Yes, but I don't remember who they were. I didn't mind, I thought it was nice.

Maybe your dogs did invite his dog. Did you ask them?

One year in college my dorm room window looked out to the front of teh church & my rooamte was OBSESSED with weddings at the time, so we used watch them enter & leave, but we never crashed. Mostly out of laziness I guess.
