Did anyone go to your ceremony who was NOT invited to your wedding?
Original post by tourist
My parents are going to a wedding near me & asked if I want to go to the ceremony with them.
I know people do that sometimes, but no one did that at mine. Did anyone do that at yours? Or have you done that?

Yup, a couple of people. Friends of my parents attended their wedding and their daughter had babysat me when I was young, some friends of my Mom's. I was happy to see them and that they helped fill up the enormous church.

I do believe quite a few people came to the church that weren't invited to the reception - but if I had to tell you right now who they were, I couldn't - I can hardly remember!

We had some of that; I actually thought it was nice. They were either coworkers of my mother and MIL or friends of my dad. It was sweet!

Yup, we had friends parents there who wanted to see their kids in the wedding party, i had neighbors come to see us and we had some family come who could not come to the reception. There were also people at the church who just like weddings i guess. Older people who sat all the way in the back.

I invited anyone from LIW to come to my ceremony and Peabody and Philby showed up since they were getting married at the same hall

We had a lot of people at the ceremony who were not invited. A few of my employees, co-workers, friends parents and my Mom's 'church lady' friends. I was very touched that they were all there.

No...and this is really only because we got married at the place our reception was held at.

We had a ton of people at our ceremony that weren't invited to the wedding - a lot of my friends that I grew up with - their parents, siblings and some grandparents. Also a few of my MIL's friends from work. Packed church & we loved it! Our receiving line was about 45 minutes long!

yup, a bunch of my mom's friends from her work, the mother of Al's friend that past away after HS...my ex's family came, which was really sweet (my ex was invited and came, but we didn't invite his family)
My mom OFTEN goes to ceremonies where she may know the MOB put not the couple - she's a sucker for weddings.

Actually, one of my LIWeddings friends came to the ceremony and cocktail hour...but not the reception. I invited her to come but it was too late to have her for the 'paid' portion of the evening. It's easy enough to crash a cocktail hour...so I said come on over if you like, and her and her husband to be came...and they even brought a gift..which was SOO SUPER nice of them!
