did anyone have a pre-printed message on inside of TY card?

I hope its not too tacky to do this, but I'd rather have a pre-printed message and write something extra for certain family members & close friends. If I have to hand write all of them it will take me forever!!!

if anyone else did this, can you share what message you had printed on the inside?

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I DID!!! I had the pre-printed message and then added something to close family, friends and those that gave generous gifts!

My message was:

The lovely gift you gave us
will remain a special part
of the memories we hold so dear
forever in our hearts

I hand wrote them all

ugggh!! I know what you're saying, that's why there's certain cards I know I'll have to write something extra, which I don't mind really b/c those are people I want to write something to. Its more my co-workers and DH's friends who will prob. toss it in the garbage in less time it took me to write it those are the peeps I have in mind w/ pre-printed cards!

honestly we didn't invite those kind of people to our wedding. That is like a B list right? Or o.k like a C list. I really just had who I really wanted at the wedding - lots were at us too b/c of that. The way I figured it is as long as my DH showed that is all that mattered really.

no not a B list or C list, but just DH's friends who aren't all that into displaying wedding TY cards in their bachelor pads, prob. just a reminder of being single! glad to hear you didn't have any of 'those kind of people' at your wedding

We had a pre-printed message with room to write a personal message, which is what we did.

I have gotten one and thought it was cute

my family would have literally spit in my face if i did that though LOL

i have about 120 cards to write, so far i did about 80 in two sittings, its not as bad as i thought it would be! I wrote the same message for all those people you are talking about: DH's friends, coworkers, friends of the family and then special messages for all of those closer to me. . .once you get into it you would be surprised how many you can bang out at once

good luck!

We did a post card TY. Our message read:

A loving note can barely express how
you have added to our happiness.
We would like to send our sincerest
thanks for your thoughts,
Your prayers, your wonderful gifts
& your presence in our lives.

JFYI, theres a picture of it in my alblum And just for the record, I don't think it's tacky at all to have it printed. Unlessyou have ALOT of time on your hands, then so be it. But I don't .

we wrote a personal message in every single one...but i've recieved many pre-printed ty's...never thought it was tacky!

I hand wrote all of mine.

If you're asking for honest opinions...I got one pre-printed one once and thought it was tacky. The bride was marrying one of my friends from college and was obsessed with every little detail of her wedding. I thought it was obnoxious, then, to not obsess over every detail of her thank you.

People took time out of their lives/schedules to come to your wedding, the least you can do is take 3 minutes and write a little note to them.

:::ducking for rotten tomatoes possibly being thrown at me::::

no, didnt do this.

and i have to say, IMO, I think it looks very tacky. i always felt when i got one of those... wow...couldn't even write me a personal note. yes, it does take time to write thank you notes, but it's just something that must be done. many of thpse people probably dropped a couple of hundred dollars or more on your wedding--- i really think they should be handwritten for EVERYONE

Helen, I'm thinking about doing the same thing and having something printed, but I plan to write something in each card still.
Glad to see I'm not the only one married 186 days who hasn't ordered their TY cards yet!!!

i had mine pre-printed but then i wrote in all them anyway each one had a personal thank in my hand writting i kinda felt bad not writting anything in them. so much for pre-printing!!

I wouldn't do that. It's inconsiderate, IMHO. People filled out a card for you AND gave you a gift, they deserve personal acknowledgement.

I did have a pre-printed message, BUT, I also wrote in each and every card (even if it was the same thing in most of them)

ETA: I once got a preprinted 'Thanks for your sympathy' card after sending flowers and making a donation to a charity in the person's name. I thought that was even more tacky than a pre-printed wedding thankyou card.

We did the same thing. This was our message:

We wish to thank our family and friends for being a part of our special day and the sharing the beginning of our life together. Your good wishes and generous gift are much appreciated.

I wrote a special thank you to most people. But there were a few that I just sent the card without writing anything to. Those are the people I barely knew
