Re: Did anyone save the cake for the 1 yr anniversary?

Our's is still wrapped in my dad's freezer. We're planning on having it on our anniversary - hope it's good cause looks like we'll have a bunch of people sharing it with us - my brother & SIL and beautiful little baby neice will be visiting from NC and I hate the idea of missing any time with her - I mean, them - so we're sharing our day. Not so romantic, but should be nice anyway.

Re: Did anyone save the cake for the 1 yr anniversary?

We didn't save ours. Unfortunateley, it did not fit into our refridgerator at the hotel the night of the wedding and by the next day it smelled pretty awful!!

Re: Did anyone save the cake for the 1 yr anniversary?

I read in a cookbook that cakes/pastries are only good for 3 months in the freezer....we were going to eat it on our 1 month, but DH came home too late...so maybe on the 2 month....

We ate ours on our 1 yr anniversary. It tasted really good for being a year old cake.

Re: Did anyone save the cake for the 1 yr anniversary?

I am so upset about this! We left our in the hotel that we stayed at and when I realized it was too late! They threw it away!!! You would think they would have called me to let me know!!! We kept it in the main kitchen refridge! Not in a refridge in our room

Re: Did anyone save the cake for the 1 yr anniversary?

We kept it..its at DH parents house....they are going to pack it in dry ice, mark it as fragile with the 'this side up' type of box and ship it down to us.

We did but we had the blackout this past August and I'm not so sure that we're going to be able to eat it next month.

Re: Did anyone save the cake for the 1 yr anniversary?

Let me preface this by saying that both DH and I did not like the way the cake taste. (most of my guests loved it) But, at the end of the night, they wrapped up all leftover cake (including the top cake) and food for us if in case we wanted to snack in the Room. Well, we went back to the room and we both had a sweet tooth. We started to eat the cake and we didn't finish it because again we didn't care for it....it was too dry. AND I totally forgot about saving the cake for our 1st year anniversary !!!! We left it in the room. I guess we were so focused on how much we did not like the way the cake taste. It is kinda funny though!! So I will probably get a replica of the same white cake and spread red rose petals around just like our wedding cake. I'll make sure it is extra dry!!
