Did DH give anything up for you?

When I first met him, he had a cat, fish, birds and other small animals.He was like Ace Ventura.
All of these animals were very high maintenence!
Over time, he gave up all but the cat. I never asked him to; he just did it b/c he knew they made me sick and prevented us from going away.

When we moved in together, he gave up all of his furniture (it was ugly anyway), his old stereo, and his recliner chair.

Ummm, I guess I would have to say smoking. He was a smoker when we met and then quit about 2 years into the relationship. One day he casually said he might start smoking again and this is where I told him that I would NEVER marry a smoker. We had a very long conversation about it and thankfuly DH hasn't smoked ever since

he moved all the way from Alaska here to PA for me. and he used to CHEW too when we first met....ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

well, he had to grow up pretty fast..... he went directly from dorm life to co-habiting. he had to learn how to cook, clean.... pretty much everything. his parents sheltered all their kids, so they all had crash courses when they left the coop

oh, he also had to adapt to LI life (he's a transplanted city boy). That included replacing subway knowledge with learning to drive, and learning the sprawling terrain of suffolk....

Well I guess you could say he gave up his single life- and very LOW cost of living in Augusta, GA for me. He always wanted to move back to NJ anyway...but I was the catalyst.

I know he'll NEVER give up college football for me though. I'm living with the misery right now. It's sad that I have to HATE Saturdays from Sept-Dec!
