Re: Did you have your gown preserved?
I used a reputable drycleaner that does preservation. They kinda warned me but not really. I don't think they even thought the cleaning would do what it did. But it is too late now. I would have never know if I didn't take the dress out of preservation (out of box) but b/c I had done that photo shoot that was when I learned. At that point, why not trash the dress
Really - my mother n law is a seamstress and she told me that it is really all a buncha houla b/c there is no real good way to preserve those dress and best to just spot clean them. My dress by no means was made from a cheap designer and it still fell apart. All the stitching .. Frayed ..etc. Esp you have lots of beadwork I really would say stay clear of it and just do your best with spot clean and put the dress away w/out plastic b/c the dress will yellow if it is tied up with no ventilation.
This is why with any white article I get back from the cleaners I immediately rip the plastic off of the garment. Good Luck whatever you chose.

Re: Did you have your gown preserved?
no problem. I just hope your dress comes out nice whatever you chose. It really stunk that my dress turned out the way it did. Most girls would now know b/c they tell you not to open the box afterwards and how many times do they really have to get back in it? I went for round 3 so I say I guess I got pretty good use out of it afterall and have nice pix to show for as well.

Re: Did you have your gown preserved?
Yes, I took mine to a local dry cleaner. It was ready about 6 weeks later. I went back to look at it and make sure it was ok , a week later it was boxed and ready. I think I paid $180
I was amazed by the job they did....I had a huge red wine stain on the train and it was gone! I really didn't think that would ever come out

Re: Did you have your gown preserved?
I used Prestige Preservation/The Cleanery...they're a LIW vendor. They were about $250 but that included my gown, veil, shoes, garter, purse & slip. They can clean it first, then have you come in and view it to see that it's clean enough, then they'll box it up for you in a beautiful view box.
They have a referral program...they'll send you $50 for any bride you refer to them, so if you're interested let me know and I'll send you my info to give to them.

Re: Did you have your gown preserved?
I used Wedclean and I loved them. I was nervous too about shipping the dress out but they really took good care of it and kept me informed about how it was doing.
They use a preservation method where they actually recommend you take it out of the box every 6 months to a year to air it out. So I love that
It came back 2 weeks later with no problems, and they def. got a lot of stains out. It was about $189 I think with tax and shipping both ways
