Did you listen to DH's requests regarding your dress, hair, etc?
I always envisioned myself in a dress with a poufy tulle skirt. My best friend got married a month before we got engaged, and I knew my engagement was coming shortly. She had a big tulle skirt and DH made a point of saying to me - whatever that skirt is made out of, I HATE it! I was sad because I LOVED tulle and a few people told me to get it anyway because it was my dress - but I did not want his first thought, when he saw me, to be - ugh - I hate that stuff! I was probably better off not getting it anyway!

I wore a big, tulle ballgown. DH had no idea about what I was wearing but I knew he loved the sleeker gowns and low, understated buns. Well, that's pretty but I figured you get one shot to walk around in a big-a*s gown with your hair done like a princess. So I did. And he loved it.

Sort of. My gown came in white, ivory and a darker antique ivory that was sort of a mix of ivory and gold. I really loved the darker shade. I knew my husband wouldnt have liked it..he would think it looked too brown for a wedding. So I wore ivory (which to him, was white) for his sake even though I prefered the darker color.

He really didn't have any requests... Never comments on other peoples gowns.. But he was annoyed when I told him I would not where *White* and I wanted Diamond White. He was actually annoyed it wasn't WHITE. Well he loved my dress and actually said ' hey you lied this is white!!' Umm no it was Diamond white I just don't think he really believed me when I explained to him there wasn't a HUGE difference. I think he was picturing Ivory.

Well he knew it wouldnt be strapless or long sleeved but somewhere in between. That he just knew because he knows how I am with clothes. ( I would never wear strapless with my icky arms and not long sleeves cause I always sweat)
As far as hair I knew I would choose an updo cause he loves my hair up.

Just with my hair. He loves my hair down, so for the wedding I wore it that way. It was also what I wanted so it was fine.
He also didn't care about my choices for flowers, my dress, BM dresses, etc.

He didn't really have any requests, but he prefers my hair down. So do I, so that was an easy one

I wore my hair down-ish and it made him cry...he loves my hair down and i am glad i did it. I was threatening a chignon for a year.
I too told him my dress was not really white and he freekd out. The cream/gold was so much more flattering on me... he never noticed.

The only thing DH is picky about is make up. He doesnt like the 'clown make up' as he would call it and he just said he knew I was getting my make up done professionally and just to have it look like me.

He didn't have any requests...but from our second date (when I showed him pics from my best friend's wedding - I met him at her bachelorette party) I knew what his thoughts on wedding dresses were.
I think mine was a little poufier than he would've picked for me...but it could've been a lot poufier. I had his taste in mind when I picked it out

I definitely kept in mind his taste and likes/dislikes when I picked my dress.. he has said he wasn't a fan ofn strapless and/or very poofy dresses (and luckily, neither am I - strapless and poofy looks lovely on others, but just isn't me) So my dress was def. on the less poofy side and had little cap sleeves.. my dream dress.
He also at first wasn't digging the idea of a tiara - I think he thought it was a bit too princessy (I dunno really) BUT I had my heart set on I wearing one.. and he wound up lovin' it
He was also concerned about my makeup being 'too heavy '(as diamondgirle said) but he picked me up from my hair/makeup trial and LOVED the way I looked, so I knew that wouldn't be a problem
While he generally left flowers to me entirely, he had his share of ideas for a color scheme! He was particularly against black , black/white , red and or any 'dark' color scheme.. he said he didn't like that look at all for a 'summer wedding'
Who knew he'd care so much, huh?

We were out at the movies one time during our engagement, and he commented on the actress' hair in the movie. He told me that would be a pretty style for me for the wedding....so when I went to my hair trial, that's what I asked for. My mother wanted me to put my hair all up - but I told her I couldn't do it

DH didn't really have any requests regarding the dress, etc. I think he wishes the dress had been less expensive though.

kinda sorta. He made a comment about not liking strapless wedding gowns. I already planned on having sleaves.
But, he ALWAYS said how he loved ballgowns. I got a very flat A-Line wedding gown.

He never made any requests about my dress but I was very concerned he would not like it so I showed him a picture of someone else wearing a similar dress about 6 months before the wedding. He liked it and it eased my mind.
On the day of the wedding, I still achieved the surprise of him seeing my dress for the first time because he didn't remember what the dress looked like in the photo. And he loved my dress.

I don't remember any special requests. DH didn't think he should even talk to me about what I was wearing and how I was wearing my hair. He didn't even want to see makeup trial pics he thought it would jinx us.
