Did you react during the ceremony the way you thought you would?

I didn't. I thought for sure that I was going to be all emotional and break into 'ugly cry' the whole time. Instead, I was so calm and happy! Maybe because I saw DH first?

Anyway, how did you all react? Did you feel the way you thought you would?

I was happy throughout the ceremony, even started laughing when the best man dropped my ring.
The only time I got a bit emotional was when the pastor lit the memorial candle and mentioned my mom's name.

I thought I was going to be nervous, and I actually was walking down the aisle. That started the minute I heard my music and the doors opened, but once I got to the front, that was over.

I thought I was going to be hysterical but instead I was shaking uncontrollably I couldnt even talk it was like when you get out of a pool and are cold yep that was me

That's funny, I thought I'd be bawling and doing the ugly cry during the whole ceremony too! I didn't though - I was so happy that day and I did get emotional - like during the vows, and when I saw my 7 months pregnant cousin get up to do one of the readings, having JUST flown in from California that morning!!!, etc., but I was more calm happy than hysterical. Very happy about that!

I cried ALL day up until the wedding. I was so sure I was going to continue to cry, but the minute I saw DH I relaxed and was happy. A little to happy, because I was giggling the whole ceremony.

LOL, i was the complete opposite of what I thought I'd be like! I thought that I would for sure be smiley and cheery - come the day of I was so incredibly emotional and crying! i had to stop twice to compose myself...it made for a really funny moment though, my little brother (aka ring bearer) came up and chucked a cry pack at me mid vows, it really helped to lighten the mood!

i thought i would cry during the ceremony but didn't...although my dad cried like a baby, he could barely walk me down the aisle!

i felt really teary eyed before i walked down the aisle, and even getting ready before the wedding, but once i got down that aisle and was standing there with DH, i didn't cry at all

i suffer from anxiety and i was so nervous about the entire day
i teared up a few times but never cried - i cry at the Onstar commercials like hysterically but i didnt cry at my own wedding
i was calm and happy the entire day - everyone thought i took a xanax but i was drug free the whole day bc it was important to me NOT to feel 'fuzzy' i wanted to remember every minute!

i actually thought that i would be bawling the entire time--and i actually only squeezed out a tear or two--nothing major.

i think because we saw each other before the ceremony---it sort of calmed us down....totally worked for us.

Just to add to my post above, I did sort of lose it right when they opened the church doors for me to walk down the aisle. I was crying (trying not to!) down half the aisle, but by the time I got to DH - 100 foot aisle! - I was composed.

Nope, neither one of us did....DH thought he was going to pass out and I thought I was going to sob the whole time...we both 'cheesed' all the way thru it

When I heard the music start and they started to open the doors, I LOST it and made them shut them so I could get my shiit together lol My Dad was really composed and said 'Lets do this' and it was on. Then he started cracking jokes and I laughed and smiled the whole way down the aisle. I made it through my vows ok, but my voice was really shakey and I was on the verge of hysterics the whole time, but kept it together. I cried a little during DHs vows, but overall I did MUCH better than I ever expected.

No...

I thought i would cry... but i couldn't... i was just so HAPPY and smiled through the all thing! i got a little teary, but nothing crazy! Plus, i didn't want to ruin my make-up!

this is a great topic! i just knew i was going to bawl down the aisle because i'm so emotional...i got choked up when i caught a glimpse of dh at the tux shop (all i saw was the collar and like sobbbbbb!!). i told a gf of mine about my fear of bawling she said dont worry just look at me and you'll be fine.

ps the day of i was so super cool and relaxed. the bridal attendant was like holy cow you are so calm. i'm like am i supposed to be flipping out and pulling my hair or something? all the way down the aisle with my folks and during the ceremony i was totally cool. i kept thinking, you know what it's about damn time this happened!the judge later said i looked like i was going to faint. i said no way, i was totally cool. dh was the one who looked faint!

dh forgot how to talk for a minute tho :)

I thought I would be laughing as thats just my nature, it was a day I always looked forward to, as I started walking down the aisle with my brothers, I started out with a big smile, then a serious face, then tears started rolling a bit here and there. Then I was all stuffed up and teary eyed, having fair skin did not help this matter at all girls, as when you get all upset, you get blotchy red skin all over your chest, face and neck......(Ugh) so much for the Irish in me. Then I held it together 1/2 way through, then I got all chocked up again & starting to cry out of know where, never thought this would happen to me or be able to take me over like that. Right before we did our vows the little alter girl was just staring at me the entire time none stop, she wouldn't take her eyes off me for a second, so I starred her down for about two minutes, kind of to get myself back together again, thinking of how young and sweet she was, she was in another space in time along with me, its hard to explain, but she was living that moment through my eyes, so I had to get back to reality here, then once we were pronounced bride and groom I was so ecstatic but looked all red and blotchy, teary eyed but happy as a girl can be with the biggest smile on my face showing my pearly whites.
So no, this is not how I ever though I would react on my wedding day, but I wouldn't of had it any other way.
DH had tears in his eyes too which even got me more teary eyed....

i was just so happy that day :) RIGHT before i walked down the aisle nerves/anxious-ness kicked in, but once those doors opened? i beemed coming down the aisle it's funny though - when u watch the video my chest is HEAVING up & down throughout the ENTIRE ceremony...i was breathing so heavy & had this big stupid grin on my face the entire time! Dh says he still can't believe he got 'choked up' when i was coming down the aisle because he was so relaxed all morning

This is a cute thread.

the two weeks before the wedding I was a hot mess; tantrums, tears, you name it, I did it :loL: BUT the day before the wedding I was soooo calm and even that mrornign despite being late and all that craziness I was ok.

I did geta little hysetrical when I walked down the aisle-didnt meet anyone's eyes becase I was self-concious and didnt want to laugh. But when i met DH's eyes he smiled all wobbly at me and winked and I bit my lip to keep from laughing. but no tears, lol just almost-hysterics.

No tears here! I thought I would probably cry a little down the aisle, but I was okay. We laughed when DH started joking around with the priest during the vows.
