we didn't. we did not have the room for it, and just didn't like the idea of eating year old cake.

DH & I had my sister over for dinner on our month anniversary and ate ours that day because it was taking up to much room in the freezer.

Since we didn't eat cake at our wedding, except for the bite that we fed each other, we ate the top when we got home from our HM.

Eat it now if you feel up to it.
Feed the baby some wedding cake !

yess!!!!!!! 2 more weeks & I will have my space back. I'm actually excited to taste it, just so I can say we did.. It may be gross though.. Who knows. Where's MJ.. How does the watermill wrap their cakes???

yeah i have a freaking teeny tiny fridge---and having the cake in there was a BIG pain in the assssss

BUT we stuck it out. and i couldn't believe it--the cake tasted awesome when we ate it the nite of our anniversary!

ETA: btw--the watermill (to answer heather's question) just puts the cake in a little box for you. but i took the cake and put it in a big freezer bag for the year it was sitting in the fridge

Nope, the RH forgot to give it to us

The banquet manager told us to call the bakery so they could make a new one for us free of charge, but I said forget it!

But some of you said just to eat it now.. our anniversary of dating is coming up! maybe thats a good idea!!

I didn't save my cake top. My filling was canolli, which will soak the cake wet when it deforest. I can't eat cake thats wet like that. So we just ate the cake at the wedding!

i have half chocolate pudding and half conolli filling in our cake---and it defrosted better than i though and didn't get all wet or sticky. i seriously couldn't believe it tasted so good.

We saved ours for the whole year and did the traditional thing with waiting until our anniversary to eat it. It was chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling and chocolate frosting, it was soooooooo good. I miss that cake!!!! It is nice having more room in our freezer now but I'm glad we were strong and waited.

We ate ours the next day! I didn't think it would hold up for a year.

we saved ours. it still tasted pretty good for being frozen for a year.

you dont have to save it- it's not a sin!

some people order a cake from the bakery that made their wedding cake and get a small version of the top of their wedding cake.

Our bakery didn't give us a take away top, but instead, we get a replica topper on our one year anniversary. We do have some left over pieces left though in my parents freezer. We may eat those before our one year, but we may not be able to wait!
