i still have mine in the freezer... but its taking up SO MUCH room

im almost at the point where i dont mind getting rid of it.. my anniversary is not until Dec

im still debating
do you think its a sin???

We still have it because we didnt really get to eat it except for the bite we fed eachother. Plus we never really go food shopping so our freezer has plenty of space! LOL

We dd - but we left from the reception to the airport, so my MIL took it home to her house for us

....it's still in her freezer (shhhh!)

We saved ours only because we have an old refrigerator in our garage so it's in there. But if it were in my kitchen fridge it would've been thrown out a loonnngggg time ago !

I'm really not to sure if we'll even eat it though....worries me to eat something so old

Same here ours is in the freezer in our garage too. It still takes up space but I have 5 more months to wait. Curious to as what it takes like.

Yes, our cake is in my MIL freezer. We plan on eating it for our one year. The only problem is that the cake was left out for 2 weeks until we came back from our honeymoon So if we get sick that's okay...we will just relive our wedding day since DH and I were both sicker than a dog

We saved ours. It's actually in my aunt's freezer, but I don't know if I'll wait a year. Aside from the forkful we fed each other, we never even had another bite. And I really want to try it because what if it doesn't taste the same after a year?

yes, we took bites of it on our anny.

We actually still kept it bc its a tradiotnal Irish (fruit cake) we are supposed to eatit at our frist borns Christening.

The hall gave us ours. We opened it a week later. Couldn't wait a year. Anyway, they had dropped the box and the cake was all smushed up. :( No biggy. It still tasted good, but I would have been upset if we waited a whole year and opened it to find that mess.

Nope!!!! We got home sooo late, we left it on the table. Forgot about it, and just threw it out. We are however having a replica made from our baker for our 1 year anniversary. It won't be as sentimental, but atleast it'll be fresh

I was told by my planner to eat it right away it doesn't hold up well and certainly not for 1 year.

Did I listen ? NO... It is in my grandmother fridge b/c she has one of those professional ones in the basement b/c she baked and cooked so freqently.My guess is that It won't hold well if It is not sealed up properly and put into a air tight freezer.

So I say Eat it It is calling for yooooouuuuuu

We didn't save ours, we ate it pretty much right away. I wanted to have it while I knew it was still fresh & would taste good.

Yes we did!

I wanted to taste it again! i only had the bite that my DH fed to me.

Everyone raved how good the cake was...coudn;t wait to eat it!

by the way it was actually very good!

My mom took it home for us and cut two large slabs out to save. The rest we have been eating in small bit for the last 2 days! It should be gone by tomorrow

my mom left it out the whole night and it was ruined the next day so we threw it out- i will however try and recreate the top layer with the exact filling and cake (marble with cannoli filling!!)

The plan was to save the entire top portion for our one year, but the day after the wedding we wound up eating it with my parents and my in laws lol at my moms house before we left on our HM. We were all just having coffee and talking and decided why not...but i did save a small slice for our one year.
