We did and it is sitting in my parents' freezer all wrapped up. I'm afraid to move it.

Re: did you save your cake

If we did, I haven't a clue where it is.

I've always wondered, is it really still good after a year in the freezer?

Re: did you save your cake

We didn't because our baker makes us a replica (a regular size/shape cake) on our one year anniversary. But I've got to believe there was a lot of left over cake, I wish we would have told them to wrap up a tier.

Re: did you save your cake

We did, but we ate half of it with my parents the next day since we didn't have any at the wedding! I wrapped the other side up and put in in my freezer unlabeled and threw it out until DH pulled it out of the garbage and checked what it was!!!
P.S. It's still fine and we'll be eating it in March!

Re: did you save your cake

Our hall saved it for us, but by the time we got it home it was pretty icky. We stayed at the hotel overnight, and left it in the car for awhile before we brought all our junk back into our apartment the following evening... between all the fresh flowers and leaving it in the heat too long, I tasted some of the frosting and it was gross . SO we tossed it

I hated the taste of my cake anyhow , so it wasn't really a big deal to me. We'll get something extra special for our weddnig anniversary

Re: did you save your cake

Yes, we saved it and it is in my IL's freezer. FIL has too much time on his hand b/c he went to a bakery to ask for the best way to freeze it and did what they said for us while we were on the HM. We'll see if it mattered next year!

Oh, that's so sweet. My mom went out & bought a container that would fit our cake but it is SO big! My brother wants it out of their freezer & I don't think it will fit in mine, so I am considering eatign soemof it now.
Why waste the whoel top tier --it might be nasty in a year!

I think its just pms-- I really want cake!

Re: did you save your cake

We didn't save it, we ate the top tier the next day with our families. My bakery said not to save it b/c it wouldn't be as good. So they gave us a replica one for free as a one year anniversary present.

Re: did you save your cake

Our top tier is in the freezer, taking up way too much space! We'll try it on our one year, but I have a feeling it's going to be gross!
