Hmmm...Social drinking is when you drink when youre with your friends, hanging out.

A drunk needs it from the minute they wake up in the morning!

I think it is the power to stop when necessary. Also, there's a difference between having a drink and needing a drink.

I just saw this one the view and according to them I woudl be a drunk although I only drink like twice a month. They said if you have 4+ drinks when you go out you are a drunk.

I would say... a social drinker doesn't let their drinking get in the way of their life...
whereas a drunk/problem drinker doesn't let their life get in the way of their drinking...

Make any sense?

I dont know. I drink root beer when everyone else drinks Heinkeken and I eat cheesecake when they break out the margaritas.

I would say if you let your habit get away from you then you're a drunk BUT a social drinker CAN turn intoa drunk...(temporarily) We all had bacheleorette parties ladies.WE know!

I think this is what Ev was talking about: http://counsellingresource.com/quizzes/alcohol-cage/index.html

Yup, I hoped ppl on this board didn't actually have to take this quiz.......

These are the questions we ask of patients that we think may be alcoholics.

I think social drinking is when you only drink out with your friend, etc.

I think someone that is drunk can drink at anytime of the day no matter where theey are

but plenty of ppl have a glass of wine or two at home while cooking and stuff -- it doesnt make them a drunk just because they're not with friends.
