Disneyworld honeymoon

Hi ladies, I just read the review by Rob-luvs-me and was wondering if anyone else went to Disneyworld for their honeymoon. We want to go there for a week and then take a week cruise to one of the islands. Any advive/info would be so appreciated! Thank you

Re: Disneyworld honeymoon

That is exactly what we did...we took a cruise for a week right after the wedding and then we stayed at Disney for a week. We stayed at the Polynesian Resort and splurged a little with a concierge room. We are big Disney fans and go alot, but it was extra special for the honeymoon because whenever one of the cast members hears its your honeymoon they always do something special.

Good luck on your upcoming wedding!! : ).

Re: Disneyworld honeymoon

We went to Disney as well for about a week. We stayed off site at the Vistana Hotels, which was like having your own condo with a kitchen and a washer/dryer. The Resort was literally 5 minutes from Disney. We rented a car so that we could go to all the different parks on our own and not have to worry about depending on all the little shuttles.

We were in Grand Cayman for a week before we went to Disney, so we were able to relax after the wedding without being too exhausted to do anything.

Re: Disneyworld honeymoon

We had a glorious 2-week honeymoon in Disney World and I highly recommend it!
We stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside and it was so relaxing! During the day we spent time at the parks, and came back in the afternoon to relax before heading out again for the night DH and I had the most wonderful time, but we are very active people, and one of the reasons why we picked WDW as our honeymoon was due to the fact that we would always have something to do! The people there are so great too, especially once they find out you're on your honeymoon!
We had plenty of time to relax as well - it was a very well balanced vacation and we loved it so much that we're going back again next year! :) FM me if you need anything else- - I think WDW is the perfect honeymoon though!!

Re: Disneyworld honeymoon

We went there too

We go a lot and I always tell everyone that it's a great vacation spot because there is tons to do or you don't have to do anything.

We stayed at the Boardwalk and due to some reservation snafus ended up being upgraded to a beautiful garden loft suite.

We have also stayed at the Port Orleans (we like Riverside end a little better).

If you have any specific questions, please FM me

Re: Disneyworld honeymoon

Thank you ladies for replying. I am very excited about planning our trip. We definately want to do a cruise (maybe Bahamas) for a week and then a week in Disney. It is a little early to actually book anything, but I am starting my research now.I got some great info from the boards, and was wondering if anyone has anything that I should absolutely do or not do while we're there? Thanks again!

Re: Disneyworld honeymoon

I personally LOVED La Nouba, the Cirque Du Soleil show in Downtown Disney. Craig and I first saw it four years ago last time we were there and were compleletly blown away by it! It's the most wonderful experience, and I really recommend you try to see that while you're down there. The tickets are a bit pricey, but if you have the Silver plan, two tickets are included as part of the magical Wishes feature - it's the BEST!! We had the Silver plan for our honeymoon and when we bought our tickects with the wishes we ended up with seats in the third row! :) We are huge Cirque fans in general, but this show made such an impact on us that we chose one of the songs as our First Dance! :) La Nouba is really such a breathtaking and beautiful show, you will walk away in love and amazed, I guarantee it! So that's one thing you should definitely do on your Disney honeymoon :)

Chef's table at Victoria & Albert's.

Stay in one of the deluxe resorts on concierge level.

Re: Disneyworld honeymoon

We did 2 days in Disney, 2 days in Palm Beach, 2 days in Miami and 2 days in the Bahamas. The only thing I would have done differently is pic only 2 places & stay longer.
We had dinner in Cinderella's castle & when we called up we told them we were newlyweds so they gave us a window table for the fireworks show!

I would recommend trying to make the reservation through the resort waaaay before you get there though, because you are going during a much busier time of year than when we went
