Re: Disneyworld honeymoon?

We went to Disney for our HM. I had a great time, but like you I got married in the winter & it was very cold in FLa. It was so cold for a few days that they shut down a bunch of the water rides & even some of the higher rollercoasters.

I would receommend it though..just be prepared that it might get quite cold, especially at night.

ALSO... I notice that your wedding date is very close to President's day. That is one of the busiest weeks in Disney. Not only thatm but the Daytona 500 is that weekend and alot of the race folk will stay in Orlando. (As we did this past week, and I will tell you we booked our hotel in August & got one of 3 remaining available rooms in Altamonte Springs.)

I hope this did not discourage you, but I do want you to have all the fact before you book!

I will be more than happy to help you with any little details & tips! For instance it is very VERY advisable that you book dinner at Cinderella's castle right after you book your room, as the dinner there tends to get very full. Also, if you want to see the fireworks show from inside the castle (which I highly recommend) make sure of the time of the fireworks & make your reservation about 30 - 45 mintues before so that you can watch the show (and also ask for a window seat for the best view).

Have fun & Congrats

Even though I am not a Newlywed, not by 12 years! but we also went to Disney on our Honeymoon. We went on the Big Red Boat, which is not in existance anymore. They have the Disney Cruise though that will go to the Bahamas and Disney. We went to the Bahamas for 3 days and Disney 4. We had a great time doing that.
Maybe you can research into that. Good Luck!

Disney has the land and sea cruise option. You go to the park for a few days and the rest of the time is on the boat where you go to their own private island, Castaway Cay and to Nassau, Bahamas.

We went to Disney World and did the disney cruise for our HM.

We had a great time, in spite of Hurricane Frances trying to ruin it for us. Disney World did a good job of making it easier, the cruise line less so, but I'd still recommend either place anytime but Hurricane season.

Seeing as your honeymoon won't be during hurricane season, I think it'll be okay.

Get a copy of the most resent 'The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World' by Bob Sehlinger. My SIL suggested is when we were planning a weeks vacation there (prior to engagement.) It was very helpful.

We visited in May 2003 and stayed in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I highly recommend staying there.
