How is everyone dividing their holidays between your family & your DH's family?

I want to thank everyone for their help. DH & I talked about it last night and decided that we will spend Christmas Eve with his family, Christmas with mine and alternate Thanksgiving. We also decided that we are going to host Thanksgiving next year and get both families together and that means that I will be cooking for 30 people!!

DH's family is in Ireland so we spend the holidays with my family.

DH decided we should rotate holidays. Based on our families though, we only have to rotate Thanksgiving and we spend Christmas Eve with his family and Christmas Day with mine.
So, anyway, DH decided to volunteer to cook his family Thanksgiving last year, for the second year in a row, which caused a huge fight (it was his idea to rotate and not for nothing - Thanksgiving was 9 days before our wedding). So I rotated like we were supposed to and he cooked his family dinner.
This year I think he's working in the firehouse... A friend of ILs asked me yesterday in the supermarket if we were hosting Thanksgiving this year. My eyes bugged out of my head. I went home and asked DH and his eyes bugged out as well - at least we're on the same page with this!
