DMV & Social Security offices in the city?

Where is the DMV in the city that you can change your name at and take a new picture? Is it 34th st?

Also where is the closest Social Security office to Penn Station?

I need to make some changes...Thanks!

Re: DMV & Social Security offices in the city?

I went to the SS office at 2nd Ave and 41st street. I was in and out in a few minutes. Just make sure you have your forms filled out, your marriage license and a picture id.

As for DMV, I haven't gone yet, but I think you can go to the Express offices on 34th st and 8th Ave.

I was told you couldn't go to the Express one to change my name - I had to go to the one on 33/Broadway - over Modells by Daffys. Took 3 longs hours! I went at 11am - but this was like a year ago.

Here's the Social Security's website where you can search for an office near you:

http://www.ssa.gov/

Here's the website for NY Motor Vehicle Dept. where you can get the forms and addresses of the local offices:

http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/dmvfaqs.htm#name
