SInce the day after my wedding, it seems like a lot of people have either flat out asked, or evasively hinted for an answer of when we plan on having children.
I find this really rude! It also stresses me out.
If I'm going to share that kind of information, it will be on my own free will.
Does anyone else get this since they've exchanged I Do's?

LOL I think people tend to ask this question b/c they assume that since getting married and starting a life together what else is there to do? Personally I kind of laugh at those questions and answer them with good humor. I have 2 kids and people always ask me if Im having more. When they say that I just tell them when they give me their checkbooks and full access to their bank accounts, Why not? They usually get the hint. As far as the married life question, well Im guilty of asking people that question myself more so, because the adjustment isnt the same for everyone. I know some people who just answer Great, Happy, some say it takes getting used to especially if they NEVER lived together. For anyone that is a HUGE adjustment and as a married couple you did that after a couple of months or the night after getting married. JMO-

We get it all the time, that and the 'you're next' type comments. They don't bother me. I tell them in a few years and that's it. If In a few years, it hasn't happened then I'll tell them, when we're ready it will happen.

yep! people ask us ALL the time....infact we were asked about 3 days after we got back from our honeymoon!!!!!

they asked me that as soon as i got back to work. they know i'm getting up there in age. i got married at 34. the family isn't asking about children just people outside of the family

Yep -- I get that alllll the time. And we're only freakin 22! It doesnt bother me though. I just tell them not for a long time -- like 4 years.
We also get the 'How's married life' a lot. That one is just annoying. Its like 'dude, we JUST got married like 3 months ago. How the heck should I know how its going?'

It's beyond rude and none of their damn business!
We don't plan on having children, so maybe it gets to me more than others. I tell people that I'll worry about what goes on in my marriage and they can worry about their own lives.
MY marriage, MY family, MY business -- not yours.
ETA - my usual answer is 'don't hold your breath.'

I came home from the honeymoon pregnant so I didn't give them time to ask
I used to ask people but once I was introduced to the world of infertility I learned to mind my own business .

Same here especially since most of my cousins & my sister had kids before getting married. Its as if they are giving me 'permission' to have kids because I am married now.

ditto for us...most of my close friends already know so they dont ask...i'm usually more diplomatic about my answer tho...something like 'not anytime soon we're enjoying our time together'
its hard because a lot of our cohorts are pregnant right now so they all assume i'll be next or i'm trying to be next. i'm SO not trying to be next!! We love our life!!!
