Re: Do things change when you get married?

People ask us all the time, 'how's married life?' My response is no differen than before exceot I have a new last name and my DH now has benefits!

We've been living together for a while so there's really no difference than before for us!

Re: Do things change when you get married?

Not too much changed for us, my name and health insurance were the big ones lol. But things are def more relaxing and less stressful now that we can just enjoy being husband and wife and not plan a wedding. Being married def puts a smile on my face and knowing that we made such a sacred commitment to each other makes me feel warm inside I love being married!

Absolutely nothing changed, including my last name

we lived together for 5 years before we got engaged, we had joint checking and savings accounts before we got married. So we were very comfortable with each other. Nothing at all changed after the wedding and I'm very happy it didn't!

Same here! We dated for 5 years and lived together for 2 before DH went back to grad school......so it was fun to move back in together right before the wedding in a place that we moved into together

DH & I lived together for over 2 years before we got married and nothing has changed. I feel like we have been married for much longer than we have because we lived together for so long. A baby will change things - just make sure you are mentally ready before said baby comes into the picture. If there is something you and FH want to do before a baby comes along (a trip or something) plan to do that first :)

Well put. Agreed

Re: Do things change when you get married?

We didn't even live together before the wedding, but spent so much time together so I knew what I was in for. Nothing changed, just the same nuisances as before, haha! I'm always yelling about him leaving his stuff everywhere, always have, always will!

I didn't change my name. If I did, I know it would have been a huge emotional adjustment for me. I wasn't prepared for that.

Re: Do things change when you get married?

We also lived together for a few years and have been dating for 8, so it really doesn't feel much different. Except when we call each other 'husband' and 'wife,' we both get these awesome butterflies

It felt different on the honeymoon, but not so much now. However, it does feel like we have an even stronger bond now.
