Do you celebrate your 'dating' anniversary?

Do you celebrate your 'dating' anniversary?

Now that you are married, do you still celebrate or do anything for your dating anniversary? DH and I will be together 8 years tomorrow Mr. Romantic does not think we need to do anything, since its not our real anniversary anymore, our wedding one is...men We will probably end up just going to dinner or something, but the poor thing looked so shocked that he was not off the hook for this one now that we have 2 anniversaries

We do, religiously!

Every April 27th we have dinner in this little french place in the Village and reminisce! DH is super seriouse about that date! He thinks it as important as the wedding! And we ALWAYS have to go to the same restaurant! He will not have any other way!

HAPPY DATING ANNIVERSARY, HMICHICK!

We did last year before we were married.

I would like to at least acknowledge it- we'll see, have not discussed it yet- it is in June.

Betty, that's so cool! I wanted to do the same, but DH said 'NO WAY! Don't mix two events! '

It would have been so romantic!

Betty, for DH and I its the same date two, just two year's apart LOL. We wanted it this way for sentimental and practical reasons (i.e. one day to remember). We also still keep track of the monthly anniversaries, but don't really celebrate/celebrate.

Whatnow, thanks

DH told me, 'if it really means that much to you, lets go out to dinner '

Ah, I thought newlyweds were supposed to be romantic...this was the man who used to write me long romantic love notes in cards. Now, I get 'Love, DH'. I mean, where is the effort people??!!

OK, I cannot totally trash him, he is very romantic in other ways...last night he built me a fire b/c I was cold, even though he was really tired. Its the little things

We celebrated nine years in september, he gave me a second wedding band. But next year when we hit 10...that will probably be it.

Re: Do you celebrate your 'dating' anniversary?

Same as Betty - our dating and wedding anniversary falls close enough to call it even. May 9 is our dating and May 11 is our wedding anniversary. 7 years this May!!

Re: Do you celebrate your 'dating' anniversary?

We celebrate both dates every year so far...our 'dating' one is 10/22, and our wedding one is 6/3....far enough apart to have a reason to celebrate DH sent me roses on our 5 year dating anniversary last year, and I was like, 'What is this...?' What a nice surprise that was!

Re: Do you celebrate your 'dating' anniversary?

I am not sure yet. The wedding date is the day that we left for our London trip, which is weher we really fell for each other after 10 years of friendship, so the wedding date already has two meanings.....

I guess we'll see, it never occured to me to celebrate our dating anniversary in a big way

Re: Do you celebrate your 'dating' anniversary?

I don't know. We have two dating anniversaries - one in October for when we started dating in college and the other in March for when we got back together again. However, the second dating anniversary is 4 days before DH's birthday and almost a month after Valentine's day, so there is a lot going on. We did acknowledge the anniversary in October with dinner out, so maybe we will do the same in March. I guess I'll find out in a couple of months.

Re: Do you celebrate your 'dating' anniversary?

I guess not

This post just made me remember that neither of us even mentioned it AT ALL! It was January 15th. Not that its unimportant at all but I guess just other things have entered our lives now and its not exactly the same anymore. That day we were dealing with banks, lay offs, doctors, family issues, etc. whereas 5 years ago on that day we were sitting in a beautiful steakhouse having a glass of wine talking about EVERYTHING!

But to be honest, I wouldnt trade in my life right now for back then any day. I really like being married!
