I had a voucher that I had to use by the 15th of this month, so i convinced my sister, cousin and gfriend to come along with me to puerto rico for the weekend. (i asked DH first but he couldnt come bc of work) well let me tell you, i was soooooooo bummmed, i wanted him there so bad, i felt almost pathetic and sorry for myself. dont get me wrong i love being with the girls and we had a greattttt time but maybe because as a newlywed i missed him like crazy. maybe when we're married longer it will be different. what do you ladies think - did you ever go wihtout your DH on vacation - after your married?????

I never have, but I would if I were invited somewhere by friends for a couple of days (no longer than that).

yeah this was only 3 nights - not too bad - i can see doing this and wanting 'alone' time in the future - just not now. but oh well. you live and you learn :)

I think absence makes the heart grown fonder. Sometimes we get caught up in so much of the day to day stuff that it is nice to go away and come back and feel that gitty feeling.

I totally agree with you. I go visit my college roomates a lot by myself for long weekends and it's great. I love being able to act like silly and do things with the girls.
With regard to a long vacay, no I haven't gone away in awhile without him but if the opportunity came, I would go and enjoy myself. However, my situation is that DH is terrified of flying and has a very limited mindset of what he wants to see in this world whereas I love to travel and want to see it all. Like I said, if the situation arose, I would go.

Sure do! I did it when we were dating, engaged, and not too long ago. At first this was him--> fast foward not too much and he became--> . It gives me the independence & space I like, opportunities to girly things, and time away to miss him.

Yes for weekend trips, bachelorette parties, etc. . I really like to travel with DH, so if I am planning a big trip, or going to a place I am really excited about I want him to be there to share it. We are both big into travel, so any longer trip I think we will take together. We went on our last vacation with another couple and it was so fun!
