i wish my family was closer with his. at least with his mom. she lives in nyc. my family only recently moved to mass. - and now i am feeling the separation a lot because they are so far away. so thanksgiving was his family - mom, brother, cousins, sil, kids, etc. and my mom was in the cape with my sisters and nephew and nieces, dad, aunt, etc. the thought of blending the two is just totally not an option - i feel like it's my fault for not initiating it enough, but my parents never wanted to come into the city...it just never really worked out.

i am noticing it a lot, because my sisters's mil recently moved to mass. as well - and she spent thanksgiving with my mom and her son and my sister and it was supposedly really nice. my mom and her mil have gotten close and i think it's great. it will make holidays and gatherings so much easier on my sister -
