Do you have a no-shoes policy inside the house?

Personally, I wouldn’t be offended if I was asked to take off my shoes at somebodys house especially if they have like off white carpet.....

Do you have house shoes, like slippers that you were indoor around the house but not outdoor

DH & I don't wear our shoes around b/c we have off white carpet.

But I don't expect guests to do the same.

Sometimes ppl will see our shoes and ask and I say ' do whatever you want' and they do b/c they are more comfortable but I hate hate hate when I go to someones house and they ask esp b/c I always wear heels and don't have any socks. I feel gross and usually never get out of my seat once I'm in it. I feel totally uncomfortable.

ITA with everything except we don't have carpet we have off white tile in most of our apartment and if we wear shoes inside it just gets so dirty. But I feel the same way about taking my shoes off at others houses, mainly because I hate when my feet get dirty. I religously scrub my floors so you can walk barefoot and not get dirty feet. I can't say the same for every house I visit

A side note my mom cut an article out of a magazine once that said how many germs and how much bacteria is spread from wearing 'outside' shoes in the house.

This is why as soon as DH & I come in, we have floor and carpet, I get a clorox wipe and wipe the bottom of our shoes, I don't want those germs in my closet.

For DH and I, yes. We take off our shoes in the hall...we have a small ottoman and a shoe rack put there for our shoes.

When people come by and see that, they ask...we tell them to do whatever they want.

Its not because of the floors...I just never wore my shoes in the house growing up, and in DH's culture you just don't do that.

no we usually wear our shoes around the house...unless its raining, the we leave them at the door when we come in

We don't wear them in the house, ever, because we live in a co-op and don't want to be noisy ... but mostly, because we are at home and why would we wear shoes?

When we have guests we never insist that they remove their shoes, but most do because we have hardwood floors and downstairs neighbors. Just common courtesy.

we don't have a policy at all, but it's always nice when people take them off if there is bad weather outside!!

i hate having to take my shoes off at other peoples homes.

if im wearing sneakers my feet can get really funky. who wants to smell that

Think this was discussed on z100 yesterday morn right? I dont have that rule bc the carpet we have now is old and nasty, but may end up enforcing it if we replace it with another rug...

And they said its worse to walk around barefoot bc the oils in your feet can be worse than walking around in shoes!

we have nasty carpet right now while we're doing remodeling so nope, no policy! i could care less if they get anything on that carpet

We have a no-shoes policy in our apartment.

My parents have a no-shoe policy in their house & I am so used to walking around with no shoes on that we enacted the same policy. I think its gross to bring outside dirt inside the house.
As for how strict we are, if shoes are wet all our friends know they better take their shoes off. The majority of our friends take their shoes off right away. We only have one friend who has an issue with not having shoes on. So we let him slide.

We have wood floors... and dogs. Everyone can keep their shoes on. I always wear my flip flops or uggs around the house.

We normally wear our shoes around the house for the most part. although I am a fan of being barefoot. I usually have slippers or flipflops close by.
I will not wear my heals on the wood floors cause they do scratch them tho. Even tho I hate won't wear heals on the wood and prefer no on does, I woould never ask anyone to take their shoes off.

no at first we tried to do that, but its sooo hard w/ our puppy he would eat your shoes! so now we just wear them and dont care about it!

husband is sooo no show policy... we take off our shoes all the time unless we just forget something in a room and run through house with them on...other then that we have slippers we wear around the house..

as for ppl alot already know we dont like shoes in the house....tho most of it is hardwood floors...they r usually very nice about it...we also have slippers for them to put on if they want to...i know crazyyyy..

the only ppl who could wear shoes in house is our gparents since we dont want them slippping andf puttin on and off their shoes

Its funny that you ask this b/c DH brought it up a few weeks ago & it totally shocked me how anti shoe he is. It literally was the last thing I thought he would care about but apparently he does. We have an apt w/carpeting and we generally take our shoes off when we get home. Once we move into our house, he requested we buy a bin for shoes & keep it by the door. I told him I was fine w/that but, I refuse to request our guests do the same.
