I have a question...
For a few mths now Ive been experiencing this pain around my eyes...well, I wouldnt say pain, but more of a pressure feeling and discomfort. At first I thought it could be my contacts, but Ive been wearing contacts for about 4yrs now and havent experienced this before. Any idea?

Dear Dr. Ev,
Um, I have chronic constipation Zelnorm was the only thing that helped but they pulled it off the market. Any other suggestions?? And don't say fiber & exercise b/c that doesn't work for me.

Aww...this is sweet...I know the gastro thing...my DH has this problem that I can basically call regurgitation. This is kinda gross, but he actually can choke up an entire piece of food. It is kinda like what a cow does. I know it got better when we switched to a low carb diet, which we are still are on. However, it is starting to happen again. What do you think? One internist suggested it was a behavioral thing and suggested xanax.
Also, are you doing endocrinology? I am so proud of you!

Hmmmm, toughy. Without having examined you I'd have to guess sinuses or tension headache. It could be something completely different that's internal...but that's something an MRI or CT SCAN can determine. I'd say that if they get worse, or if you start having visual changes etc... go see your doctor.

Did you ever get a diagnosis for your constipation? Could it be a symptom of something? I think that's the first step - find out what's causing it. Other than that -fiber and whatever meds your gastroenterologist can recommend are your best bet. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
