we have some money saved in our savings but not a whole lot in our spending accounts. for the most part i feel that we live paycheck to paycheck and its so frustrating. It's been really hard trying to save money for the future. Granted, DH has 2 kids from a previous relationship and is paying child support. It def puts a toll on our monthly savings and we have many many years ahead of us of still paying that.
we have decent jobs but i guess thats just not enough to afford LI

i work 2 jobs, DH works a lot of extra hours we had whatever we made from the wedding in our savings, but that pretty much got depeated when we got the house!
trying to save when you have a mortgage to pay is really goig to be hard! especially when our paychecks just barely pay the bills... and again we both have decent jobs!

I have been since two months before the wedding and still am. We decided to use some money from gifts to pay off credit card bills and a debt DH has, so we won't really have a lot to use for spending or saving.
I hope we can get it together soon, so we can save more from each paycheck.

We definitely do. Especially since its just DH really making money. My pay only makes us enough for groceries.
I think we probably are living slightly outside our means at the moment because we were on reduced salary for a while after we bought our house based on what we can afford. Though were back up it did put us in some debt.

Thankfully no. We save DH's entire check and put it into our ING account. We're planning a big move next year so we need to save as much as possible. I work afterschool and I also teach summer school so that we can pay our bills and then have 'fun money' to play with.

We do but basically because for the 2 years before the wedding we were saving for that and now we're saving for the portion of the IVF that the grant we got doesn't cover. So if it weren't for always having to be saving for something we'd be ok. But that won't happen for awhile...next is saving for a house!

We don't. That might change when we buy a house/have kids, especially if I don't start making more money soon. But we're very good at saving and we don't really buy anything super frivolous. I haven't felt strapped for cash since we've been married.

well in some ways we do bc DH has been out of work so so long so now we are just using mine. . we do have some savings that we are trying not to touch but for monthly expenses we are trying not to spend over what I have. . . which is HARD

we put dh's entire check away. We live my paycheck to paycheck pretending as though dh is not getting paid... if that makes sense...
And we have cut out alot just incase dh's job becomes unpaid for the next few years as an apprentice...we want to be ready

We live entirely off of DH's paycheck and put all of my money into savings. Mind you, DH just finished grad school and his dissertation, so we were living on a grad school stipend. DH also teaches college courses and works for Proctor & Gamble, and all of that money goes into savings too. We live on a very meager budget and do not touch any of our savings...I can understand how/why people are sometimes not able to do that, but we want to save up for some pretty big things and enjoy them as much as possible without worrying about money in the future :).
ETA: When we move in the summer, we will be living off of my paycheck and saving DH's since he'll be making significantly more :).

i do - i dont knwo about DH - we keep our money seperate
once i pay off my credit card debt - which is like $3500, i wont be after i pay them off but all my money right now goes towards it

Not at the moment… we actually have a lot more money in our accounts than I ever thought we would have after buying a house, but that’s mostly thanks to the $8k credit and the fact that we only had to put 5% down. It’s a little scary though since DH’s district is one of the few schools whose budget didn’t pass, so now we’re a little worried esp since he makes a good chunk of money from coaching and that might be one of the first things to be cut.

Yes we do. I'm hoping that will change next year when I finally graduate college and no longer work part-time, but it'll still be really tough because DH is in soooo much debt from student loans when he graduated a few years ago and I'll be in debt too but thankfully not nearly as much as him.

We have our money kept seperate.
I do, because I don't make that much between unemployment and working PT its not what I was making working FT
DH doesn't, he has a good amount in savings and then also has his paycheck. Then from March-Dec he mainly used what he makes from his landscaping business to live off of, so he covers us both right now luckily

Luckily, we don't right now. We have money saved at the moment but if DH doesn't find a teaching job for next year we'll definitely be strapped based on our crazy mortgage and what I make.

We do but thats cause now we have a mortgage and its almost impossible to save anything. Oh well, for now it might be a little tight and rough but I look at it as we are just starting out and we arent always going to be comfortable (although I wish we could be) but eventually the house will be done and we wont have to keep putting money into it and they we can start saving again
