I got a $165.00 ticket for parking in a crosswalk. I parked in angle parking.

Why the hell are the lines there if you can't park there?????

I really makes me mad!!!!

I once got a ticket for the same thing but it was parallel parking instead of angle parking. I had checked the signs, everything was good, I left the car and in the morning I was like WHY in the world did I get a ticket? Only then did I notice that there was a dip in the sidewalk. Well, I took pictures of the signs, of my car parked there, of the fact that there was NO CROSSWALK lines marked there for anyone to cross the street, and wrote a letter explaining everything. I sent it in with the ticket and a few weeks later I got a letter that the ticket was dismissed.

So definitely fight it. If that's not a spot to park, they should mark it with yellow lines or something. GL!

PS: I got the ticket in NYC.

It looks like there is a no parking sign on the pole- but I can't read what it says...but you may be out of luck (although I agree that the ticket is bogus because te spot should be hatched out so you KNOW not to park there without looking at the sign above your head.)
