To NOT write anything on your thank you cards, if you have a message printed on it, with your names already?

Im def. going to be the out cast here. I dont think its rude at all. Ive been to quite a few wedding throughout the years (family and friends) and Ive gotten the pre-printed no note thank you cards and I took no offense to them. For my thank you cards I didnt personalize them..I had them pre printed and sent them out that way. The only ones I wrote a note in where for my bridal party, pastor, etc. but not to everyone. I dont want to start drama..JMO.
ITA you're not an outcast!

I'm glad I read this, because I thought I was the only one who thought that it's not rude. There is no way, I am writing out Thank You's to 330 people....NOT HAPPENING. I'll get sick of doing it, get frustrated, and will do it half ***...Plus, I hate my handwriting. I'm going with pre-printed, same standard line of Thank You to everybody.

Okay...I do agree on personalizing some of them.....especially for the family and friends who gave us really really generous gifts.

Hehe...Im glad I could help . I was hestitate to write it because it seemed everyone was completely against pre-printed thank you. I do think its a very nice extra touch to personalize but sometimes its very hard to get to every single ty card..esp. if you have a busy life. I mean, Im just talking about me and my family. They were very happy with my thank you card...they thought it was beautiful. And like I said before..Ive receive pre-printed ty cards and I was very happy...I never thought 'Oh, why couldnt they personalize it' I was just happy to get one . But to all of you ladies who actually got to write something personal on each ty...congrats..because it takes lots of work!

I don't think it is 'rude' but I do think you should just put something on the card to personalize it. What is rude is not sending a Thank you at all!
Good point Jen.
I would write a note, even if its a short, generic one. We wrote pretty long personal ones to everyone, but DH helped so I was lucky!

They must have nice handwriting, because mine is horrible. I took Speedwriting for 3 semesters and it ruined my penmanship. I hate writing anything. I think only I can undstand it, and that is basically the reason behind Speedwriting....only YOU should know what you just wrote.

im with you guys. i have nooo time to handwrite anything (i have yet to send out my thank yous!) so we printed them. BUT i did design them myself over the summer and personalized them with pictures of us and those specific guests at the wedding. that took me long enough as it was. if i had to write something too i'll never get done.

How long did you guys take to plan the wedding? 3 months? 6 months? A year?
You can't take two to three weeks to write thank yous?
I am asking honestly. I am assuming you 'made' time for wedding planning... can you 'make' time for writing thank-yous?

Ha! Im surprised I had a wedding at all! With school, family, work etc..Im amazed I was able to plan my wedding all by myself. It was a lot of work! ( at least for me since I did it all myself) I just cant see myself sitting down for weeks writing personal messages esp. since I thanked everyone at the wedding for coming and everyone got a TY card..even if it wasnt personalized. This is a tricky topic I think..we all live different lives. Some of us have the time to do this while others dont. Im sure people understand.

it took me just about two years and all i was doing at the time was work and school. now im working, going to school and interning on top of being a fulltime wife. but like i already mentioned i personalized my thank yous for each guest with pictures of us and them at the wedding (never heard of anyone doing that before!), that took many hours on photoshop as it is.
