I have had this badboy for 8 months now and still haven't used it. I have about 4 more months to return it to BBB for a refund.
Do you use yours? What do you use it for?
Trying to figure out if it's worth keeping.
TIA!

Re: Do you use your KitchenAid Mixer?
I got mine for my shower...our kitchen is small with limited counter space, so it's been living in it's box up in the attic...i do plan on breaking it out for Christmas cookies! I don't really cook...but am excited to try my hand at baking using my Grandma's recipes

I use it all the time! I made cakes with it, pies, dough, biscotti, meringue everything..
YOU MAKE ALL THAT STUFF???? Man, don't tell my husband. I have him convinced that that is what bakeries are for....

I honestly didn't even register for one & Im glad I didn't. I work out, so it's nothing I can't mix in a bowl with a whisk! I bake and cook alot, but I just felt like for $300 [and up] I just felt like it was very unncessary to register for!
Same here. I just got the standard 20-30 dollar mixer.

I use mine for cakes, cookies and mashed potatoes. I hate hand mixing so this is a good saver.

Re: Do you use your KitchenAid Mixer?
I registered for it and got it, and now I'll be pressured to make DH's grandmother's cookie recipes for Christmas!! honeyballs, sookies (sp?), struffela's (sp???). I've helped his mom make them a few times, they're a pain in the neck!! but I guess eventually I'll have to learn the tradition!

Re: Do you use your KitchenAid Mixer?
I think when it comes down to it, a good food processor and allclad pots will all definitely be useful.... IF you cook regularly.... Likewise, a good mixer will be useful IF you bake regularly... this also goes for formal china.... if you hate entertaining, or have informal family gatherings, it will just take up a lot of space and be a tremendous waste of $$$....
I noticed that a lot of couples feel they 'must' register for these items, even if they hate cooking / baking / entertaining...... and then they regret it later on. After so many responses saying you have these pricy items and never use them, I feel like we should warn the '08 and '09'ers to register for stuff they really envision using!

Re: Do you use your KitchenAid Mixer?
I've had my kitchenaid mixer for about 5 years and I honestly couldn't live without it. I do a lot of baking, especially around this time of year, and can't even remember what baking was like pre-kitchenaid.

I didn't register for it, because i wasn't having a huge of a shower and didn't think that I would get it. I'm glad that i didn't because I wouldn't have gotten as much stuff...that's for sure.

I use mine all the time. I got the pasta roller attachment, and it's really easy to make simple pasta, it's really quick and comes with an easy recipe. I've also used it for cake and bread.

actually a hand mixer is fine for almost all baking... the only time a good hand mixer will not pull through is if you're making several batches of cookies or cakes at the same time, or trying to knead dough.... so basically, a standmixer is a waste of money unless you do those 2 things....
