Do you wash your floor with a mop or.......

do you get down on your hands and knees and clean it that way????

I have two mops in my cleaning closet and don't use either of them........I wash the floors in our house on my hands and knees, with a bucket of water, my yellow gloves and ELBOW grease...... (our ENTIRE house is hardwood).......

I get that from my mom. I used to think, 'man, you're CRAZY for doing that when you have a mop in the closet'......But now I totally understand why she did it, because I do it too.........

So girls, what do you do?????

That's one of the ones that is in my closet right now, (swifter), and I stopped using it after I show I saw about how dirty the floors are after you use mops and swifters....and what not......they did an experiment with a mop and hand washing.....and it showed the mop just slides the dirt around the floor and only picks up a bit of it........THAT was enough for me to hear........ (other than the fact that it's in my blood)

Ev, you better tell your boy to get on his knees!!!!!!

All of our floors are carpeted - except for the kitchen and bathroom. I wash them about 4 times a week on my own (besides what DH does) b/c I'm so messy when I cook - food flying all over the place :) But I'll def tell DH what you suggested

Gotta put those men to work sometimes........

i swiffer every day but at least once a week i get down on my hands and nknees and scrub the ceramic tile.... I HATE IT!!

but we just got a shark so hopefully it'll be easier!

same here billandme!

I don't do floors. My husband does. I vaccuum . But he spot cleans first, and then mops.

wet swiffer..... DH vacuums the carpets.....

we srub like that only maybe once a year, to get grime out of the grout areas and around cabinets....

Krisy I am the same way! My mom always cleaned the floor on her hands and knees-she didnt care about the mop. So thats the way i do it. Besides, I think its cleaner that way

Good to know that someone got the same thing from thier mom....... It's just a better feeling knowing that every corner is CLEAN!!!!

DH uses a mop

What I like to do is get down on my hands and knees and clean it that way first and then afterwards use the mop to go over the whole floor to make sure its clean. double the work, i know, but our kitchen floors used to be linolium (sp?) and they got soooo dirty that this was the only way to get it to look remotely clean
