Re: Do your inlaws treat you differently
Once DH and I got engaged DH's parents did start to treat me a little differently, but they were always really accepting of me for the most part.

Re: Do your inlaws treat you differently
No, They don't. They have always treated me with open arms since the day I met them.
They live on the west coast...and I was the only girl he ever brought to visit them.
They said they knew I was the girl for him as soon as he said we were coming for a visit.

I think they are a little more relaxed around me.

Re: Do your inlaws treat you differently
sort of. I don't think his sibling respected me at all until we were engaged. He referred to me as 'DH's 'little friend' which I always found offensive. I never see/talk to him now anyway, but I'm sure he has a little bit more respect for me now.

Re: Do your inlaws treat you differently
I dont have the greatest in laws in the world. I dont think they have changed towards me. We've tried to stay away from them for the most part. We really only see them at functions or if we really have to come by their house. I'm jealous of all you girls who have good relationships with your in laws!!! XOXOXO Kitty

Re: Do your inlaws treat you differently
no change. DH only has his mom, doesnt communicate with his bro. His mom has always been nice to me, she doesn't show emotions and has had a very hard life.
DH's uncle (who is as close to a dad as he's got) said the nicest thing to me at the rehearsal dinner tho. He said 'You're the best thing that ever happened to him, I know you'll take good care of him'. I was almost bawling.

Re: Do your inlaws treat you differently
We joke that they love me more than DH...sometimes they'll ask me (jokingly, of course) what I see in their son.

Re: Do your inlaws treat you differently
No change that I've noticed so far. It took them a while to warm up to me but for the past couple of years we've had a pretty friendly relationship.
