Does anyone actually SAVE money? (like on a regular basis)

I remember saying that once the wedding was over, we were going to start putting the same amount into savings that we used to put toward the wedding.

Why isn't that happening...at all?

The only way I save is by having some money taken out of my paycheck to go into a credit union account. Then I have another account where money is taken from my checking account and placed in a money market account. I can also transfer over the 'net, which I do with whatever is left in checking at the end of the month.

I am terrible with money. That's the only way I have been able to save anything.

Yes I save money every month. It varies every month but I do it.

We try and save too...I clip coupons and I try not to buy stuff that isnt on sale

We saved because we wanted a house so badly. Someone told me to try to live off only one persons paycheck, and save the other ones. We lived off my paycheck and banked my dhs. It was tough but now that we just closed on our house it's all worth it.

We bank my salary. I dip into it for spending/lunch money, but all bills, rent, etc come out of DH's salary and I don't take out that much.

We try and save money - it just doesn't happen. Life keeps getting in the way.

Some months we are able to save and other months we have to pay to put new tires on one of our cars, or the brakes need to be replaced. . . .things like that happen every now and again to throw a wrench into our plans.

We are also trying to pay off school loans and one interest free CC as fast as possible so that also puts a dent into our savings fund.

YES! We have a certain amount taken out of our checks and put into our savings everytime we depsoit

I transfer over a portion of my paycheck to our savings account every time I get paid.

My entire paycheck gets banked and we live off of DH's salary. No dipping allowed!

Yes, we both save money. DH maxes out his pre tax options at work and I save after tax money for emergencies. It's hard but I wouldn't feel comfortable not having a safety net. I do like the idea of banking my salary and living off of DH's.

we were able to until he had to start paying about $400 to his student loans each month. That really hurt us.

I've always had a certain % of my salary put into two different additional accounts other than the checking acct I pay bills from.
