I am home today recuperating and taking the day to do stuff I have slacked on. Cleaning out closests and downsizing my closet to see what I have, what I need and what I dont have.
I have tons of clothes; most not more than a year or two old and in mint condition-just stuff i bought that i purchased when i thought i was 5 sizes larger thna i am (have body issues) and some stuff i just dont care for anymore. But its all in great condiiton so I dont want to throw it away. I know salvation army takes things but none by us. Anyone else?

I usually donate to Big Brother Big Sister. I thinkyou can have them pick up from your house.

there are clothing donation drop off bins in the parking lots of most supermarkets. you can also donate to good will or the salvation army.

We always give to Salvation Army down here. But whenI lived in NY, we always gave to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

I give all my stuff to a local parish. They leave a leaflet in the mailbox and then come around and collect the stuff. I like to give it to a place where the clothes will be given to someone in need and not sold to them. I know the charity shops use the money they make to help people but I think if you need a coat it should be given to you. If you are so poor that you are wearing a second hand coat you could probably spend what little money you do have on other necessities.

yes, i donate to them as well. Look them up in the phone book and give them a call and they will arrange a day that they're in your neighborhood to pick up. All you have to do is leave it on the curb (not garbage day! ) and lable it for them and they will take it for you. you dont' have to be home.

Yea so would I. I know the salvation army ahs stores but now always so cheap. I have some really good clothes that should probably be sold, but I would rather my old coats (we have sooo many!) be given to those who just need one.

Salvation Army or even Vietnam Veterans -- most of them will come pick up the things you want to donate and it's also a tax deduction too
