Does anyone else feel like there is no TIME for anything...
Original post by JimmysBride
or is it just me?? DH and I work 9 - 5 jobs. I have a 45 min commute so by the time I get home, it's 6pm or almost 6pm. Prep & eat dinner and it's 7pm, later if we cooked at home.
Before you know it it's 8pm and basically too late to start any new 'projects' like cleaning, laundry or household tasks you've been meaning to do because you're tired and want to take off your shoes and relax for a few minutes, maybe watch a little TV.
So... unless you plan to go to bed at midnight (something I can't do easily anymore since getting PG) , when does everyone have time to 'DO STUFF'? There are a ton of little household projects I'd love to at least make a dent in during the week, or errands to run, but I feel there is no time. So everything gets pushed to til the weekend and of course, you can't do everything in two days...
I feel like either I'm bad at managing my time outside of work, or something is up. Does anyone else feel like they have no time to be productive after work?

I hear you and the days where I have nothing to do, are filled with errands because the nights go too quickly.

There is no time to even type on this site, ha ah...No but seriously, I work Mon-Friday - 9-5 my commute is an hour and a half both ways, I try to work out on Monday and Wednesday after work (get in the house at 7:30ish and then make us dinner, sometimes hubby will make it, I go to school on Tues and Thursdays after work and get home at 9:30. And then Saturday and Sundays are filled with errands and chores, gym and also trying to RELAX before doing it all over again. Whew...I wish I could even think about being a Traditional Wife where I could stay home not work and take care of my hubby Ha ha haa.. that will be the day...

Yes! Darren and I were just having this conversation! For us, it feels like it has not slowed down since the hurricanes! Our life since august has gone a bit like this: prepare for hurricane in a mad dash then wait in the worst anticipation for it to come for two days...hurricane comes...4-6 days without power, next two weeks spent fixing up all the problems with the house/yard ect. from hurricane....repeat this two more times through october. October0 go to ny for his sisters wedding come back and have one weekend and them my parents come to town, next weekend a ton of halloween parties, buying candy putting up decorations ect. next weekend-more company following weekend- NOthing---to exhausted to move following weekend- early thanksgiving then followed by the real thanksgiving weekend...guests in town for the next two weeks ONE WEEKEND to get my christmas shopping done before a weekend filled with christmas parties on to christmas on to new years ooh look company again then we had company in town ONe free weekend- CAN I PLEASE SLEEP? You won't believe it but company in town again....and here we are in Feb! This weekend we have free then we have even more company in town (I am so over guests in my house..mean, yes! but true) then we start ripping down the kitchen to do a remodel which will take all our weekends for about 3 weeks before its done..followed by the last of our winter guests and then easter...Its going to be April before we have two weekends off in a row. Ok sorry...I know I got a little crazy there but COME ON! How do people get anything done like this? OOH and I love when my mother comes into my house and gives me a hard time because everything is not spotless.

No time is my middle name!!!! I am presently doing a full-time internship program working 37.5 hrs a week for free and then I go to work after the internship 3 days a week for a total of 20 hrs a week. I also go to school at Queens College 2 nights a week which are 3-4 hr classes. When the weekend comes all I want to do is sleep. BUT.....All the other things need to get done. Laundry, dishes, erands, cleaning. Thank god my DH is a tremendous help otherwise I would never be able to do all that I do. I can relate 100%

I'm nervous because we lived (and work) in Manhattan and now we are moving to East Northport. If there was no time to get it all done with a 40 minute commute, how are going to have time with an hour and 40 minute commute! less sleep, Less time forexercise, less time for cleaning/chores on weeknights- that means having to do more on weekends!!
