Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
Mine will remain in the box until we have our first born then my mother who has the box in NY because we move too much to keep it safe will have my train turned into a Christening Gown and my hankie which was orginally my christening bonnet will be turned back into a bonnet.

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
The only time I'd consider putting it on again is for a renewal...but even then I think it might be 'weird'. I'm going to save it though..it's pretty classic and simple so my daughter might have interest!

u never know though.. bc so many styles come and go... and then come back into style again. just like lace is making a come back... i dont think i can sell mine... too much to part with!christening gown is a good idea! though no babies for me for a while.. but good thinking!
maybe for a renewal...? hmmm...

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
Tammyjill..Saving it for your daughter would be really tough. My mom even though she got married around the same age as me is just under 5 feet tall and I'm 5'6 without heels. Also, my mom had a D cup and I'm a B.
It would have been really tough to do. Instead when I was little she allowed me to play with it and I used to try it on all the time. My gift to my parents was a frame with a picture of me in her's playing dress up with a poem and then a 5x7 of me in my actual dress!

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
i'm saving mine. if i have a daughter, i want to give her the option of wearing it if it would fit her. my mom did that for us. i did not want to wear her gown, but i had the option, which itself meant a lot to me.

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
Yep, I plan on wearing mine next year
DH and I have both been married before and we are waiting for our annulments to come through. This can take anywhere from a year to 18 months so we decided not to wait.
So our plan is to get married on our anniversary next year (which will be a Sunday) in our church. I will wear the dress again and we will only have our immediate family there.
I have a cousin who did this and she actaully bought another wedding dress for the church ceremony! I wouldn't do that because I love my dress. Then I would probably save it and see if my daughter would like it.

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
I don't know what to do with mine. DH and I were actually taking about it today cause we were kidding about what to be for halloween and I said we could go as a bride and groom and I could wear my dress again because if it gets dirty, what am doing with it any way.
I've thought about selling it, but I just don't know if I can. Don't know why since I don't plan on any children so, my daughter wearing it would be a little unlikely. My SIL did just wear her mom's dress for her wedding in August though. She just had the long sleeves made into cap sleeves and it looked really beautiful on her.

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
I actually will get to wear mine twice. One week at the reception on LI, and then the next at a smaller reception in my FH's home town upstate. I am still almost undecided though because it is just a simple get together. But no one will have seen me in it excpet his parents.Any thoughts???

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
It was an annual ball Stanford holds every year, in honor of the traditional balls in Vienna. It was fabulous and I got so many compliments (there were lots of women in whites and ivory gowns, so they didn't necessarily know mine was a wedding gown - it was bustled of course, but my bustle goes under and can't be seen). We also had a photographer take some pictures near San Francisco landmarks while we were all dressed for the ball. So I got to wear my dress again AND get pictures my photographer didn't take at our wedding.
You can see them here - pics on pages 1, 2 & 3
I don't think we'll renew our vows at 5 years, but we may get dressed up fancy and go somewhere!

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?
My best friends mom did something so great with her wedding gown. She had someone use her gown to make a BEAUTIFUL bassinet and presented it to my friend at her baby shower. It was so beautiful and SO special. There was not a dry eye in the place!!!

my mom had our ring bearer pillow made from the train of her wedding gown. It was made by my MIL - and was one of my favorite shower gifts.Welcome New Vendors
