lisa t - i have never seen those pics! they are absolutely amazing! you and dubliner and very lucky girls! dubliner... i recently saw some you took in ireland. incredible!
maybe i'll just wear mine for the fun of it on our 5 year too! i think mine does look a little too bridal-y though.. so i'll wear it in the privacy of my own home!

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?

I have no doubt in my mind that it will be used again in my life. Not sure for what exactly but i will find a way:

a) have it altered to make it into something i can wear for a big renewal (20-30-50 years)
b) if i were to have a child, i would have the shawl that I had made to match into something for a baby
c) a quilt to keep me warm in the old age home

Something!!

EVen if the dress itself is ugly and out of fashion - expensive material never goes out of style so i will find something to do with it. Its too 'soon' for me to make any decisions b/c i want to make it into somethign that has meaning for me.

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?

I LOVE my dress.
I didn't get it boxed yet - it's only been 2 months. BUT I had a detachable train. I am going to have our child's christening dress made out of it - when the time comes.
I did day on our year anniversary I would love to put it on, with the video and redo the whole thing in our living room - just him and I .

I miss planning the wedding

however, married life is AWESOME!

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?

I heard of a group of people in California who got together and had a dinner but the purpose was to wear your wedding dress again. The husbands came in tuxes and all the women were in their dresses. I think they had it in one of the fancy hotels in San Fran - I remember seeing an article in the New York Times. I thought that would be a great idea but I don't know if I could ever talk DH into going to something like that!

Re: does anyone ever plan on wearing their dress again?

My SIL actually has 2, yes 2 gowns that she wore for her wedding- one for the ceremony and one for the reception. She couldn't decide! It was too cute! She also has 2 engagement rings (yes from the same guy) and 2 wedding bands! BTW- My FIL- her father is a jewler so that makes it easier for her for the many rings!
