Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

his name was second nature to me, I had practiced writting it for so long before we got married, and it is weird, I went to college and have no idea what career direction I wanted, all I ever knew was that I can't wait to be Mrs. xxx because that is what I wanted to be when i grew up.

Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I'm definitely NOT used to it. I went to SS this morning and changed it there and have changed it at work but still answer my phone using my maiden name. I'm getting more comfortable writing it and seeing it but just can't bring myself to say it yet, it just sounds too weird.

Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

I still don't know if I want to change my name. My co-workers are pushing me to change it (not that it's any of their business ) but DH doesn't really care.

Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

Nope, the only thing I am having a hard time to accept is being called Mrs. XXX by people on the phone etc, I keep thinking of my mother-in-law But using my first name and new last name, or signing it etc, no issues here.

Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

Not really. I changed it right away on everything just to get it done. I even changed it at my office.

It still sounds weird to me to hear myself being called Mrs. H___ and I still sign some credit card receipts with my maiden name by accident. Other than that, I LOVE sharing his name!

Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

NOT AT ALL!!!!

I had no problem going from my maiden name to his name! Mine was much longer to say & everyone always screws it up!

Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

my dh is pretty easy going and didnt have many requests during the planning process except that i change my name... any person i dated serious in the past was open to me keeping my name and i even had one guy willing to fuse both of our names together which would have been cute lol. but i fell for the last name tyrant lol he never wants to fight about anything but that topic. i knew if it was worth fighting for him then it must be pretty important so i took his last name. at times i miss my long polish last name ALOT but i did go from a Z to a F lol and if i ever go back to grammer school illl be picked a lot quicker

Very hard to adjust to. I have officially changed my name on paper, but the guys at work still call me by my maiden name.

Re: Does anyone find it hard to accept, their new last name

I've been dragging my feet on the name change thing. I've had the same name for thirty years and its weird to no longer be known as it. My little brother jokes that I'm no longer part of the family.
