DOES ANYONE HELP THEIR HUBBY TO PACK WHEN HE

Original post by shamma

LEAVES FOR HIS TRIPS: I think Roger thinks that I am selfish, b/c he will say, honey can you please pack for me and I will say sorry buddy but I hate packing just as much as the next man.

The reason I don't want to do it is 1) I do not know how many days he is going to need something professional, 2) How many days he is going to need casual 3) I hate packing.

Are there any suggestions that you ladies can give so that I don't come off as if I don't want to help him. This morning as he was packing I was asking him things such as, do you have ties, boxers, socks etc, so in a way I did help, he forgot ties Just wanted to see what others think. Maybe a must pack list would be nice. I still don't want to pack, when we were leaving for our trip, I packed on Friday night, I hate packing and so does he.

Shamma you are absolutely RIGHT! This is why I don't cook!!!!

He got into a VERY bad habit early on...so my bad habit is no cooking and I can't make coffee either!!!

I usually pack most of his stuff, because he always feels like he is forgetting something.

Nope, never. DH travels frequently, too. Would I ever in a million years ask or think he would pack for me? NO!! Why should I do it for him? He's a big boy, graduated from college even! He can handle it. His mom and sisters both pack for their husbands and they think it's so weird I don't. I think it's weird that they do.

Shamma - exactly!!! DH is from a very Italian family where the wife/husband roles are still very defined.
I don't pick out his clothes for him every morning, nor does he pick out mine. As for fear of forgetting things, it's his responsibility, not mine. After a few times, they learn, but keep doing it for them and they're like 5 year olds.

Amy, point well taken. I will say this tho' I think its a man thing, they will take you picking up behind them and treating them like children. I don't think I would complain if I came home from work and my hubby undressed me, showered me, served me my dinner and re-pack my gym bag for the next day. So I think its a human thing I just think its not in a woman's nature to have anyone waiting on them hand and foot or dropping our stuff all over the place w/o a care in the world. IMO

Steve wouldn't know a suitcase if it came out and introduced itself and then offered him money
