Does anyone's employer hire work-at-home employees?

If this is an inappropriate question, please let me know and I will immediately remove the post.

we have the ability to work from home at my company - but i'm not sure if they would be okay with 5 days a week at home.

we have some employees who live VERY far away and they work from home at least 2-3 days a week.

ETA: i work for a software engineering firm though - so coming into an office isn't 100% necessary.

I worked from home full-time for a year from my former job in the city...(when i moved out here)...I did graphic design...and had access to the server just like I would if i was in the office.

DH worked from home for his former company too...they were in Israel and he lived & worked there..and when he moved back to the US they let him work from home...and come in for 2 weeks every month and a half.

I think alot more companies realize the possibilities.

Thanks....

I should have been a little more specific.....

Does anyone's employer hire part-time work-at-home employees...for those people looking to make extra money....

Sorry about that...
