Does your home have a scent? (EDIT: My house DOES NOT stink- maybe some of you mis-read or I worded it wrong)

Not a stink.

I mean, a certain air freshener scent that you use, or a glade plug in. ??

I want a scent for my house. I have a bath and body works plug in in the 'fig whatever' scent, but it's WAY overpowering. I burn candles sometimes too, but the scent doesn't last.

UPDATE: My house does not stink and I'm not trying to cover up the smell of an unclean house. Most of the time my house smells like clorox clean up or the kitchen cleaner

But wanted something that smelled pretty all of the time.

dh used to use Febreeze a lot. I think it was some sort of mountain fresh scent (who knows what the heck a mountain smells like!). We haven't bought it in a while. Usually we get fresh linen or the mountain one and I like those a lot.

I have one of those diffuser things in my living room. I can only smell it when I first enter the room but if i'm in there a while i don't realize its there anymore

As soon as I walk in my apt it still has that new paint smell and I hate it, I tried plug-ins and it work but I find that those Diffusers work a lot better.

My apartment still smells like pumpkin spice from the diffuser. I have to go to Target and get a spring/summery scent.

Oust has this spray for the air and surfaces. I use it mostly for the air b/c it smells sooooo good and lasts pretty long too. I also had the plug ins things , they lasted pretty long too.

They are called reed diffusers. :) They are nice, but like someone else said the smell doesn't seem to last long when I am around it.l

yes- cigarette smoke. We have vents and people in our building smoke and it comes into our apartment. I think thats also why my asthma has been bad lately. It is gross. i try to cover it with plug ins.

I was the queen on home scents, always burned candles, had diffusers, plugs in, you name it we had it. I just went to a training for daycare from NYS and they had all these Drs on saying how bad the fragrances were for you and they linked them cancer in animals. I got rid of them all, but I do miss them.

those plug-ins you have to be careful with they can start a fire. be careful ladies. we usually burn soy candles, or incense (Nag Champa). however, our neighbors (were in a condo) like to cook meat late at night and so that comes through the vents yuck. i swear it is because they only use the foreman grill and not their stove. i was baking banana bread last week, and it smelled so yummy and their meat making overpowered it. if we didn't eat meat it would make me puke.

oh the best thing to use is burning essential oils (pure oils) in an ultrasonic diffuser. it is amazing.

Re: Does your home have a scent?

i wont use any plugin's because they are a HUGE cause for housefires - and well - my house burnt down my senior year of highschool so i'm overly careful ALL the time!

i clean consistently & will occasionally light candles when we're home...our guests always say that our apt. smells good & has 'a certain smell' so i guess we do! lol. guess it's just 'our smell' even if WE can't smell it lol.

i also try to stay away from Oust & things like that..certain brands are better than others but i actually read an entire article about a week ago about how horrible Oust & it's chemical content is. I try to keep a small box of matches in the bathroom instead which actually works better for 'number 2' than anything else lol... and if i do smell something funky i will occasionally lysol(Garden Mist actually smells decent!) or febreeze..
