Don't know what to do

I'm supposed to go to a wedding in NJ tomorrow but I have 100.4 fever and getting worse. Should I not go, should DH go without me, should I **** it up and go. What do you ladies think?

If you have a fever don't go. You don't want to get worse or get anyone else sick. My biggest pet peeve is when someone has a fever or is definitely ill and goes out...stay home. and get better...the bride and groom will thank you when they get back from their honeymoon fever free!

I hope you feel better!

I wouldn't go. Especially with all the crazy flu's going around, everyone is going to understand and probably be greatful truthfully that you took the time to feel better and didnt risk getting anyone sick. if you're coming down with something the last thing you need is a full night of loud music, alcohol, and travel. as for DH, I can understand you feeling like he should go, but truthfully, I think the couple will understand either way, so I would make the decision based on what you two feel like doing and not out of guilt or anything else.

If it was me, I would say if its his best friend/close family, I would tell him to go, but if its a co-worker or a distant friend I would want him to be home with me, especially if I really wasnt feeling well.

Just send a card and a nice gift, and feel better!!!

Michelle if you are starting to run a fever, & have a sore throat like you mentioned on FB - you may be coming down with strep. In which case you definitely DO NOT want to go to a wedding where strep can be contagious the 1st 24-48 hrs. I would say stay home - try to go to a walk in clnic if you can & get a strep test done (I think the Strep A is the immediate result one) & just get lots of rest & drink plenty of clear-ish fluids. No matter who the wedding is for - I say either you go as a couple or dont go at all (JMHO) & have DH take care of you tomorrow! Im sure they will understand esp since you are running a fever! Please feel better! - you poor thing!

Thanks girls. I felt so bad not going, but you are all right and made me feel better about the decision. The groom is the grandson of a man who was practically DH's grandfather. Jay has known the grandfather since he was a baby and worked for him at the marina. The grandfather Ralph passed away last fall. We don't know the grandson well but Jay feels he is like family. He is going to go to the church and cocktail hour then coming home.

So I am sick in bed and DH is on the road to NJ. He is going to the Hungry Puppy in between the wedding and reception to get stuff for our dog. I am so jealous.

Re: Don't know what to do

I am starting to feel better, thanks, but I am sad.

I was so excited about having 5 days in a row with DH and two ended up being ruined. One he was gone at the wedding all day without me and today I am stuck on the couch feeling horrible and he is working around the house and helping out at my parents house. So I didn't see much of him Sat or Sun and he is off to CT again tomorrow.
